A lower end quality android phone with very limited features.

3

This phone came out a while ago and was the first android device I ever had. At the time it might have been pretty good for a cheaper android phone but currently there are many that are better that this one. Battery Life Battery life is nothing to complain about. It lasts a decent amount of time. Display/Screen Quality The display is really small. It's smaller than iOS devices and it limits the user experience on android devices. Call Quality Call quality was not bad. Depending upon the service, wifi calling is available. Ease of Use Android 2.2 Froyo is the latest flavor of android this device supports. The phone is unlockable and you can root it and install some new rom's on it but generally stock runs best on it but even then the phone is limited. It has little internal memory so it becomes hard to use the device with multiple apps or apps that have large sizes. Durability It has fallen many times and survived. It still functions like it is supposed to despite things so it is a very durable phone.

Samsung Dart Smartphone, A Good Phone

4

I bought the Samsung Dart Smartphone after I broke my last cellphone. This was my first time purchasing a smartphone and I was very excited to see how it would make my life easier! I am also a "gamer" (a person who likes to play video games) and was excited to have simple games always at the ready to play, as I get bored very easily. I have enjoyed this phone. The apps available for download are the the Google Play Store (Android Market). Just as with Apple downloads, there are no shortages of the varying types of apps you can download. There are tons of apps that cost money to download, and there are also tons of apps that are free to download. The one downside that I've noticed is that this particular smartphone does not support every single app, especially if it is a new application. I enjoy playing a particular game on my Apple Ipod Touch, but discovered that I could not download the same application on my smartphone because it was not supported. A little bit of a downer, to say the least. Moving on to other features of the phone. I love the "swype" feature this phone has when sending a text message. You simply trace the letters of the word you are wanting to type with your finger instead of having to type every single letter. It also has an auto correct feature for those of us who aren't the greatest spellers. Accessing and entering new contact information is fairly easy, too. The camera takes decent pictures and makes it simple for you to share your images in several different manners. Overall, this is a pretty good phone. Although, I will say if you are looking for a smartphone that you can download a ton of applications to, this is probably not the phone you want. Space is quite limited. I have enjoyed this phone and it has so many great features, that I'm still discovering new things about it.

Okay android phone for first timers

4

I bought this phone about a year ago and it is still in great working condition. I actually got this got for a great deal so I can't really complain much about this phone. It has google play, can support most social media apps excluding vine, can not support popular games such as Candy Crush and Angry Birds. :( Was disappointed when I saw that. But besides that I actually do still like this phone. Very responsive and call quality is great. I really don't like the memory on this phone. After downloading 6 gaming apps, the memory is already used and I am warned to delete some of it. I really hate that about this phone. Especially because I tend to get bored a lot and I usually play games on my phone often. I really do not like the battery life as well. I remember one time, I charged the phone to 100% in the morning and did not use it until 3:00 pm, the battery life was down to 18%. That was really agitating because I had not used the phone at all during that time period. So the best thing to do is shut it down to avoid situations like that. Besides those two problems, the phone is actually pretty good and I highly recommend this phone for first time smartphone users.

Good starter smartphone

I was in the market for a new phone and wanted something affordable. I'd been wanting a smartphone for awhile but wasn't really looking to pay that much. The Dart was the perfect step! It worked decently and would be perfect for someone wanting something on the cheaper end. (I have since upgraded again though and gotten something a bit faster and more reliable.) Battery Life I found myself having to charge it about once a day, that's about average with most phones though so it's not a big deal. Call Quality Calls sounded great on my end! But I have had a few people complain about hearing me from day one. Ease of Use It was pretty easy to learn how to use! No complaints. Durability I'm notorious for dropping things, so I hate to admit but I dropped it. It held up well though, so I guess that's a good sign! Design I find it's a bit light, so, it does feel a bit cheaply made.

Ok Little Phone

I picked one of these up for my kids for the holidays. It is okay, not exactly what I expected. But I guess you can't beat the price. I think it is best for kids. No necessarily for adults that need it to do more

Great for a while -- some of the apps crashed

Overall, this is a great starter phone. Pros: It's an Android phone. If you don't have the big bucks to shell out for an iPhone, get an Android phone. Google is awesome. The apps are so much more varied, and you can get a ton of the ones you want for free. Most of them have ads, but they're not too annoying. I use the WiFi option a lot so I'm not paying to use up the data on my phone by playing games a lot. The camera is surprisingly good. Haven't taken much video but at least it's there. Voice calling is great for me, yet can be difficult for the person on the other end. The speakerphone is great, great, great. I use it all the time and it hasn't blown out on me yet, like every other phone has. Cons: The one I have didn't come with a lot of internal memory. A lot of the apps out there use at least 2GB or more to install on the phone, so it got used up pretty quick, and that can make the phone run slower if all of them are being used at once. Also, for whatever reason, the Google Play Android store as well as my Music and Mp3 player (which came built into the phone) crash whenever I try to use them. This happened after 7-8 months of use. Both crashed around the same time.

Great phone for the price.

Awesome smart phone for a fifth of what an iPhone would cost. Camera quality is not very impressive, but otherwise the phone is great. Battery Life I usually get around a day of usage off of each charge. I am heavy on my data and texting with a few calls sprinkled in the mix. Display/Screen Quality Great resolution & adjustable brightess. Call Quality Speaker phone is a little distorted. Ease of Use Very straight forward and customizable. Durability I live in a house with a dog and two children under 5 and it's lasted me a year and a half and is still going strong. Design The power button on the side is very easy to push on accident, especially when viewing videos in the landscape mode.

An "okay" Android smartphone

The Dart smartphone from Samsung is available to both contract and prepaid plansCompared to other T-Mobile smartphones available, this was one of the most affordable. However, as a result of this, there are several setbacks. I have owned my Samsung Dart for 4 months and so far I have been satisfied with my purchase, but have definitely notice things that other phones do better. The call quality is great and if you are someone who likes to personalize everything, there are a lot of settings. On the downside, one of my biggest disappointments is the camera quality, which is poor. Battery Life The battery life is pretty short, even if you have GPS, 3G, and wireless (battery suckers) turned off. Display/Screen Quality The screen is hard to see whatsoever outdoors when it is sunny. Durability I have dropped the phone several times on the hard ground and the battery cover has never popped of and the screen has not cracked or become warped. Design There is not a camera button on the top or side of the phone-- you have to click the camera button on the screen which I don't like. Also, I wish that the camera was located on the side of the phone that the screen is on so you could video chat.

Good android phone for a first time user.

This phone isn't the fastest, prettiest, or most feature-rich phone out there. It does what it should though, its an android, and can run MOST apps somewhat decently. The small screen and the very very low quality camera are fairly annoying. Bar code scanning doesn't work (QR codes do however) because of the poor quality of the camera. The camera has no flash, and no autofocus. It IS durable however, I drop my phone quite a bit and it hasn't had any issues from it. Its a great phone to start out with, when you're first learning android, but if you can, it'd be best to save up a little extra and get something decent. I've only had mine 4 months and am already considering replacing it due to the fact that I would like more functionality. Battery Life I actually get a full day of normal usage out of this phone. I've heard many say they have to charge their androids many times a day. I play games, text, talk, etc and it seems fine. Display/Screen Quality The screen is small and doesn't have the best resolution. The sensitivity of the touch screen is fine however. Call Quality The only problems I had as far as call quality issues go were due to my carrier, not the phone itself. Ease of Use Very easy to use, once you figure out the Android operating system. Durability I've dropped it quite a few times and haven't had anything happen to it yet. Design Its a bit small. Otherwise its designed fine.

Get What You Pay For

3

Basically, you get what you pay for. It is a cheap android phone and maybe for a newbie to androids, it would be wonderful. But for me, this being not my first one, it is very slow. So slow, I often get frustrated and just forget about doing whatever it was I was trying to do. I ended up deleting all the games off of it. It was just to slow to run them. Battery Life The battery life is great though, even when being on it all day, it will still just run. I have gotten 3 days off of it without being on the web. Checking email and such, 3 days! Display/Screen Quality The quality of the screen is poor. While it does do the touch stuff, looking at pics, they are just very pixalated. Call Quality Generally the call is ok. I do get dropped quite a bit though I am thinking that just might be T-Mobile Ease of Use Very easy to us! Great for a newbie to Android. Durability Mine keeps getting dropped and still great!
