i have used this phone for 6 motnh and works good.  the phone locks up quite often and the battery life is short.  it happens  once or twice a day but other than that i like the phone. it just needed more field testing before it was mass produced, but like all phone its about gettting the better one... read full review »

Overall, not a great phone or PDA...if you like slow, buy it.

The Samsung BlackJack is a decent smart phone.  It is very entry-level in this competitive market.  It is slow, small, and frustrating.  If you would rather have a phone to play with, this is it, but if you want a smart phone to use for business applications, look elsewhere.

I likeit it, but I've had to replace it twice in 4 months.
a woman, a busy person, a mobile phone user, into music, reliant on my phone, not rich, a person who enjoys quality

I like the phone itself for the most part, but after three months, it froze up suddenly and I lost everything stored on my phone.  400 phone numbers, all of the ringtones I'd paid for, my pictures...everything.  I got a replacement and apparently it wasn't a new phone.  People I was trying to talk to said it sounded like I was on a World War II phone.  I got that one replaced....lost pictures and ringtones again.  This one had better last with no problems!

This is cool for a smart phone, but I'm less than six than in and I'm having huge problems related to Windows.  No matter what, my last call is always the same person (who I don't talk to anymore); the speed-dial is tricky; I can't set it to check my voicemail automatically; the alarm occasionally doesnt work; the number pad on the keyboard is inconvenient at best.

I got my blackjack as a gift for Christmas in 2006 i LOVE this phone i can check my internet, text quickly, set up my alarm to wake me up. Downloads music. Take Clear pictures..i recommend it to everybody who needs a phone that does pretty much everything. By the way it's quick and never really frezze.

The blackjack is awesome. I can check my email and email from it. I can shop on line. I use it for a wireless modem for my laptop. I don't know what I every did without it.

The Blackjack is a decent phone - I wouldn't say I hate it, but I definitely don't love it either. 

I guess I'll start with the pros; It's not a bad looking phone, it's very thin, and the QWERTY keyboard is pretty easy to type on once you get the hang of it (then again I have pretty thin fingers, they are really small keys). It takes decent pictures and has some fun little editing things for that, takes videos and the volume is pretty good too.

However, use of the internet, for me, was pretty difficult. Whenever I'd try to log in to anything I'd have to try it sometimes ten times or more before...

I love my BlackJack phone from AT&T. When I first had a hold of this phone, I could hardly put it down. I love the features, the functions, and the versatility of the phone. You can put this in lock so the buttons won't go crazy and haywire. I love the picture quality that the phone takes. Speaking of the camera feature, other features include a camcorder, ringtone features, bluetooth, internet access, games, calculator, texting, video texting, picture texting, calendar, phone book, and the list goes on and on. As my contract is coming to an update, all of my friends are telling me to get an iPhone....

I purchased this phone when it first came out because it was less expensive then a blackberry. I must say that the phone has a very hip style and is very trendy. You have the capablity to download and record your own ring tones. The ringer is quite louder then most phones that I have had so that is great when I am in a noisey room. The picture quality on the phone is almost as having a digital camera and you can always print them out at walmart or walgreens or even at your own home computer. This phone is completely durable (mine has been dropped on the floor, in the toilet and anywhere else a phone can be dropp, basically!) but a lot of features on this phone are quite annoying. The vibrate on the phone is RIDICULOUSLY loud, don't set it on a table in a quiet room and expect no one to know if you receive a call! You can't set vibrate for a text message or voice mail either because the vibrate for those lasts even after you've opened the message (seriously, like a 30 second vibrate). I purchased the Samsung Blackjack as a Fathers Day present for my husband.  He's had it for over a year now, and he loves it.  It has all kinds of features, but what I love most about it is that it's small and slender as well as droppable.  I have a Motorola Q, and it's still larger than the Blackjack. I think it's a great guy phone.  Get one for yours soon.

I like my phone's large, colorful display. It really helps me to stay more organized with the calendar and task features. I can check my personal e-mail if I need to. The only thing I don't care for is the shape; it could be a cuter phone. But, in this case, I can overlook that because it's really useful.

considering i am so used to sony ericcson phones, they are the only ones i have used for the past 8 years, this was not an easy transition to make. But once i spent a few hours sampling the fees i found the phone was user friendly and boosts an impressive array of features
