Great Value

Comments about Samsung ATIV Book Laptop:

This is a great laptop for both home use and school use. As a graduate student, I'm constantly writing papers and doing research simultaneously. Not only does it offer the technical specs to get things done, it compares favorably to the fruit-based notebook I used before I bought this laptop- and is about one-third of the price too!

Ease of Use
This laptop is very easy to use. If you've ever used a Windows operating system before, you will know your way around this computer. The shortcuts and controls are also straightforward and virtually the same.

Battery Life
Samsung Optimized power setting strikes an ideal balance of performance without sacrificing battery life.

Support & Service
Samsung offers great support for all of its products.

Speed/Performance
The Windows 8.1 upgrade initially makes the speed and performance lag, but with the addition of new drivers and new support, Samsung is working to make the transition a smoother one.

Design
Love that this laptop gives me a number pad for easier input of many values and calculations. Also love that it is so thin and seemingly weightless, perfect to carrying wherever you need it.

One major defect

Comments about Samsung ATIV Book Laptop:

When I sold my Surface Pro I was looking for something to hold me over until the latest version so I picked up a Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro. I was drawn to this tablet because it was on par with my previous tablet's specifications and it came with a hard keyboard at no additional charge. I wasn't too big on the aesthetics of the device, but I was only concerned with performance. I played several games on this device at low settings and noticed that about half of them didn't perform the same as and my old Surface even though it was running an identical processor. The Ativ was running a lot of games at an
unplayable frame rate at 720p, but ran smooth at 480p, which is useless on 1920x1080 screen. Other than gaming I was able to do just about everything else on this ultrabook with no problems, but the biggest issue was the keyboard dock. The keyboard dock would constantly connect and disconnect while just sitting on a table untouched. Samsung acknowledged that this was an issue with this model and offered me a keyboard exchange for a fee.

Good Little Note Book

Comments about Samsung ATIV Book Laptop:

I love this little Samsung Notebook. IT is then and very light weight. My office uses it as the modem to hook up to another bigger screen. They are planning on incorporating this into the rest of the office if it works. The only drawback was printing ability but the IT guy was able to configure it so now it will print from Google cloud. It is fast because it does not have a lot of those to bog it down. I can easily access my data base which is online and have many window open at the same time. Unlike my HP laptop I have for home use this one rarely if ever crashes or buffers. I think it has crashed a page like twice in the past 6 weeks since i was given it to check out. Now that they figured out how to print from it I am going to recommend it for the office. Getting these will do away with the big CPU's. Also if needed employees can take it home or travel with it.

Battery Life
I assume it has a decent battery life but it is plugged in all the time here at work .

Support & Service
I haven't had any service issues.

Speed/Performance
Very fast page loading and action. I can have many windows open and it does not seem to slow it down.

Design
Just about like any other small laptop

Durability
Seems to be encased pretty well. I do not see a problem with the durability factor.
