Great phone for the money

4

This is a good bang for the buck phone if you are a bit tight on money or don't require all the bells and whistles on a cellular phone. It has everything that you would need, including bluetooth connectivity, camera, instant messaging, calling of course, and email. The screen is decently large, not too large but you can certainly see everything important with ease. It fits comfortably in my hand and I have no issues or complaints with its size. The samsung A137 is a flip up style, meaning that the blueprint is minimized since it can fold into itself. It is pretty durable as I have hit it accidentally against a couple cabinets and such a few times. It is a pretty attractive phone, although it's not as great looking as say an iphone4. But for the money it's awesome.

The durable A137 Lives!

4

I have currently been using this specific phone for a while now. I'm not a huge fan fo massive cell phone apps or using my phone to navigate or anything. I love this phone except for the bugs that occur every now and then. It is super durable. I have fallen in pools, dropped it in toilets and out windows, yet it survives. Even when I turned in my phone to upgrade, I still stick with the A137, thanks Samsung.

A137 Has all I need

4

I LOVE iphones, always have, and I plan to get one, but I have had the Samsung A137 for a while, and it has been more than sufficient.  It was a Christmas gift in my stocking last year, after I broke my previous phone; I thought it was a boring gift, because I don't get very excited about electronics, but it turned out to be quite an unexpected blessing.  I think we get too dependent on our phones being toys, or wanting them to have every capability in the world.  But this is all I really NEED.  I drop this phone all the time, even on the concrete now and then, and somehow it keeps holding together.  It is very versatile for a basic, simpler kind of cell phone.  I take spontaneous photos all the time that I just want to look at later, when I want to smile.  I use the calendar, notepad, calculator, and almost every tool it offers very often.  I can't think of any way to complain about it-all pros, no cons.

basic cell phone

5

I have used this cell phone for about 2 years.  It has been very reliable and I have been pleased with this purchase.  This phone does not have a qwerty keyboard, you need to use the number pad for texting.  I do not text much and when I do it is a bit difficult, so if you are someone who does a lot of texting throughout the day you should consider a cell phone with a full keyboard.  This cell phone almost always gets reception, I have no complaints about the quality of the cell phone reception in all the areas that I have used it.  The cell phone is light and small which is important to me since I carry it with me throughout the day, either in a pocket or in my handbag.  The battery power has also been good.  I typically keep the cell phone powered on all the time.  I only need to charge the battery about every 4 or 5 days, which I think is good.  I would reccomend this cell phone to anyone who wants a basic, reliable, inexpensive cell phone and does not need to text very often.

Worst Christmas Present

1

I recieved this as a Christamas present two years ago. By far this was one of the worst presents I have ever had. This is th wowrst phone too. I just wanted something simple that would allow me to simply talk and text. Nothing fancy. Thsi phone is horrible. I never had so many dropped calls in my life. It was very cheaply made, so I was felt as if I was going to break the thing. The speaker was extremely low quality as it was hard for me to hear half of the time. The ringtones sounded horrible on this phone. Sometimes, people would tell me that they had called, but I never recieved them ebcause this phone hardly ever had enough service tp let me talk to anyone. I hated it. I have never had a good Samsung phone, but this was the worst. I would not recommend getting anybody on your Christamad list a Samsung phone. They will have a horrible time, and you will probably never be able to talk to them expecially if you buy this phone.

Knack cellphone has a major shortcoming

2

When I went to get a cellphone, I decided I just wanted the barebones. No texting, photos or internet. In other words, the "cheapest" phone out there. My only requirement was a thin profile. As I researched, I found the Knack and it seemed just right. Nice size display and no frills. One thing concerned me about the reviews, however, and that was people were complaining about the "volume". OK, I figured it was a bunch of old people who had some hearing issues and since my 62 year old ears were perfect, that wouldn't effect me. After getting the phone, I soon realized the "volume" issue was related to the ringer. Here is the problem: the control for the ringer is on the side and any touch seems to change the volume of the ringer. I can't tell you how many times I missed calls because the volume was inadvertently touched and dropped from high to medium or low. I carry my phone in a pocket and if it's not on high, you can forget hearing it. In addition, it's almost impossible to flip the phone open without hitting the volume control. I don't care what else is good about this phone, the volume control is a deal breaker.

Simple yet advanced, feeling trendy without taking away too much

5

Honestly there really is no need to over due this, the phone is easy to handle simple idea with great functions for those who want to start out slow and progress into avid cell phone users.  I myself started out as just a call and anwser kind of person and I slowly started to enjoy using my phone for more than just well a phone.  I put music on my phone to listen to when I was at work (when I could) and it played loudly as well, maybe too loud.  I am an avid photographer and I enjoy taking pictures and videos whenever I can and this has a great 3.2 megapixel camera for capturing  all the moments no matter what they are, not to mention the fun features of what you can do to change color, size, and shape of the picture you took.  It is big enough for the men out there like myself who have big hands that you don't feel like you could break it and it has big keys for punching in phone numbers or if you do text the same.  The phone has held up for me better than past phones I have had and that says a lot because I am pretty brutal with my phone.  All in all the phone is a dime and here comes the but.  I do find that not so much with the phone that I have but the carrier that I drop a lot of calls and have bad signal in a lot of places.  As far as the phone goes when talking to someone it is awfully quiet and there is nothing wrong with my hearing.  The speaker system isn't the greatest you might want to buy some speakers to hear better if you are planning on listen to music.  The camera on the back of the phone is very sensative to touch as most are but there should be a shutter cover or something to help protect it from damage.  I haven't really found anything else wrong with the phone, yet.  My end statement is a good phone could be great for some who like features and aren't to rough with their phones, an okay phone for those who just want to talk on the phone, depends on the person.
