I have been comparing tvs for purchase. I want the best that there is in terms of picture quality. The Samsung 55" led tv has the best specs of all lcd tvs. So it is technically the best picture you can get. There are basically three spects to look for in a tv. One is if it is full hdtv. in other words 1080. you want to avoid a tv rated at 720 The samsung led is full hdtv. Two is the contrast ratio this technicaly means the difference between white and black. what it means for the viewer is there is more range between white and black, and therfore for more variations in the colors. while you could say his shirt is purple, there are actually thousands of shades of purple his shirt can be. A higher contrast ratio brings out the subtle differences. A higher contrast ratio also makes your picture brighter.so you don't have to draw all the shades to watch tv like in plasma tvs.The contrast ratio in an average tv can be 15000-1 up to 60,000-1 The samsung led tv is 5,000,000-1 this is incredible. Three is the prossesing or recovery speed. It is rated in hz. some LCD tvs are 60 hz. some are 120hz. the samsung led tv is 240hz. In smaller screens this is not that big of a concern, but in the larger sceens, if you don't have a high recovery speed, fast movments can look blurred, or just not natural looking. This can also be fatiguing after viewing for a while.The SamsungLED is also the thinnist tv available. Compare for yourself. you'll see why the Samsung 55" LED tv is my best pick.

Samsung TV left permanant black marks from the rubber feet on the bottom in my furniture.  When I called Samsung, I was told that Samsung did not suggest that I put their product on a wood surface.    If you purchase a Samsung TV I recommend you protect your furniture.
