I have to give this TV a 10. I am sad to see that it was discontinued because I have had mine for only 2 years, but it is a Plasma, and it looks as if LCD and LED TV's are taking over, Plasma's are practically obsolete now. It works great in darker rooms, so it's perfect for basements, bedrooms or if you have the shades up quite often in the day, which is what it was made for. LED and LCD's are better for lighter rooms, where there is much more light. Overall though, this is a great TV and Samsung is very dependable, obviously one of the higher end brands. Picture Quality Great for night time and shaded rooms, not so great when it is 12- 3 o'clock p.m. Sound Quality Great sound quality, if you add a system to it with surround sound it will be even better. But, the TV alone has great quality. Durability Very durable, I am a huge fan of all Samsung TV's. Design Thin and sleek, they always carry very thin and modern looking. They are always one of the first, if not the first to come up with the top of the line designs.

I have owned this model television for approximately 2 and a half years. I have not had any problems out of it since I have owned it. For the most part, the picture quality is great. There are occasionally a few channels that I have a hard time seeing clearly, but that is more on the cable company than the television itself. My only complaint would be that it is not always user-friendly with the remote and changing from input to cable to other functions. There is not a place on the remote itself to make these changes, so you must go to the television itself and make the changes with the buttons on the right side of the screen, which are extremely hard to see. Besides these two minor things, this is a great affordable television and I would recommend it to anyone.

My hubby had been eyeing some LCD tvs, but this one got rave reviews from the staff at two different stores, both of whom owned Samsungs themselves.  I love the brighter color and darker black of this Plasma, and we haven't had any image burn so far.  Compared to my sister's LCD, the image is clearer, especially on action shots like sports or action/adventure movies.  It was really easy to connect to our Apple Mini as well as to our DVD player.  Don't have much experience with comparing with other flat screens in this area, but at least it bodes well for folks who aren't very tech savvy getting things set up.  The menus and controls are fairly intuitive too.  This flatscreen has a gorgeous look in my opinion.  Really like the frame around it.  My one beef is that it was quite a chore to attach the stand.  My husband's pretty strong, and he had a hard time getting the screws to tighten enough to make the tv/stand connection stable.

I purchased this TV during Christmas time one year ago and have not been dissapointed at all.  I had heard grumblings that Plasma televisions burn hot, have burnt in images, etc., and although this is true to a certain extent, the value of the television and the quality of the picture have both proven to be well worth any minor "con" that may accompany the purchase of this plasma television.  The sound quality is okay, but we have ours hooked up to a surround system, as I'm sure most people buying a big hung of television would do anyways.  I watch every sport imaginable, and they all look GREAT on this television.  This was my first venture into the flat screen television and I can honestly say I have arrived and very satisfied.

This Samsung Plasma TV is a great addition to any room (size permitting). To start off the look of the TV before it is even turned on is beautiful. I sleek black with no visible buttons as they are built into the edge of the TV as sensory buttons. The base is quite heavy but is also a beautifully designed glass addition to the TV. The screen is bright and vibrant and any HD channels look crystal clear. There are a large number of hookups so that anything you may need can be hooked up to the TV at once. Multiple HD hookups for gaming systems, DVD players, DVRs, computers, etc. All in all it is a wonderful TV that would look great in any household. The only problems I have had with it is that the TV and the base because of their size are actually pretty heavy and needs to be handled by more than 1 person. Burn in images are another problem in that if you leave the same image on the screen for more than say 15 min that image will be faintly visible until the image is refreshed multiple times. I do not know the lifespan of this TV or other plasma TVs as they are somewhat new.

There is not much to say other it is an awesome tv. it is only 720p but at this size no one can tell a difference between 720 and 1080 unless you are like 5 ft away from the tv, which NO one is that close. Over the air Looks awesome on it. the colors are amazing. sound on the tv is good for a tv. I like plasma way better then lcd. 1 the price in much cheaper and the blacks are BLACK. The only cons are glare from the sun, so best used where you have blinds, and the burn in image. it doesn't burn it in but if left to long on 1 scene it has a little image left on that goes away quickly. it don't like that just cause it scares me. Overall i love this tv.

Before purchasing the Samsung Plasma TV we owned a Sony Projection TV. I absolutely love this television. The picture in crystal clear. You will need a surround sound or a sound bar for the tv because the speakers on the tv are not great. My other television had a lot of glare but not on this one.

I love my Samsung plasma TV. It is big, great picture, great quality, great sound, and I love how thin it is and that I can hang it on my wall. It is also really easy to just plug a computer right into it, and the quality of it is so good that you can use it as a computer screen as well and it looks great. This TV is so amazing to watch football games and basketball games on. I have been loving watching March Madness on it the past few days since it started. It makes every sporting event and movie that much better because it makes you almost feel like you are sitting at the game watching it because the quality is so good and it is so big. I absolutely love this TV and would not trade it for anything.

I was on the look out for a new television set and I read up on alot of reviews on Samsung getting all the praise. Since I read about plasma having much better picture quality, black levels, and viewing angles than LCD i decided to choose plasma instead. LED LCD TVs are too expensive right now so my only option was between Plasma and LCD at 50+ inch. So far I haven't had much problem with the tv. It takes alot of effort in getting it set up but once it's done you dont have to worry about it later! The only gripe I have is that sometimes there is image retention but I don't know if it's real burn in or not but it disappears after a few seconds. I guess I shouldn't leave something on pause for too long and should let the tv change channels or something.

The Samsung 50 inch plasma television is the best television I have seen by far to date. It offers crystal clear picture, sound, and motion. It also has a great slim design and is spectacular in high definition. If this is the future of television brand names, I'm in! Plus, the Samsung Plasma TV uses less energy consumption than other Samsung name brands. So, for anybody that is looking for a lower energy bill, this is the television for you. This is a great television to use to watch your favorite DVDs and/or Blu-Rays for the best possible sound. The Samsung 50 inch plasma television also offers great contrast ratio, 100,000 hour panel life, and it is easy to connect with a computer. All in all, The Samsung 50 inch plasma television is an amazing television and offers great quality for every home viewer.
