Got it when it was on sale at CC a while ago. So far it's doing a pretty decent job. The colour of picture is good in HD. The built-in speakers are on par with TV within this price range. great overall except for blackouts

We purchased this tv because the salesperson at the store we bought it from said that as far as LCD tv's go, Samsung and Sony offer the best value (although not necessarily at the best price) . The tv was a bit pricey but we love the picture it gets. We play our blue-ray disks on it and the image is amazing. The remote control is wonderful, very easy to use...we love puttng subtitles on everything and on this remote, it has a key for subtitles-you don't have to go into menu and mess with tons of things. So far our only complaint is that we will be watching a movie sometimes as the image disappears....

The Samsung LCD 40" TV LN-40A550 is a fine product. This was purchased as an anniversary gift from hubby& me to us. We've had the TV for a little over a month and have no complaints at all. We researched prior to purchase and shopped around for about a month before actual purchase. Consumer report had this TV as best buy and we agree after checking out the competition that's how we chose this TV. The picture is bright, crisp, and clean. The colors are true to life. three months later... i have this red line across the screen.  According to the vender it needs alignment... after the alignment, I STILL SEE THE LINE.
