Ahhh, the television. My greatest friend, and my greatest foe when I have a paper due within 3 hours before class and I have yet to start. I purchased this television from costco for my room, and I used to have a small, cube-like LCD TV. It was definitely time to get a monitor that was less cubey and more flat and high definition. This television is definitely bright and the colors are crisp and clear. The only con is that the sound comes directly underneath the television itself so the sound quality may vary depending on where your TV is placed in a room. It is not too bad, though. If you're able to set up some sort of external speaker system then more power to you, that may work better than the standard audio. This was definitely a great upgrade from my old sony LCD television. No tuner needed, it's built in already so it'll get your local channels through means of air. I even tried my PS3 on it and there are no cons there. I hope this TV'll last me for awhile.

I use this TV in my room mainly just for cable or to watch shows off my media player. I must say I love all the features of this TV! It has many different options when watching regular cable TV to get a better picture quality. It also supports many types of resolutions and aspect ratios, including the common 1080p (1920 x 1080). It has a ratio of 16 by 10, so unfortunately all shows watched have black bars whether it is 4 by 3 or 16 by 9. But that's not much of a problem, because I know that I'd rather have black bars than actually losing that space on my monitor. While watching just SD shows from my media player I almost thought it was HD. That is what is great about a small TV in the bedroom, from a distance everything looks clear. What is the point of having HD movies take up so much space on your media player when it looks the same as SD content? Absolutely no point, I am glad I purchased this great TV.
