Very overwhelming at first but has great selection and deals.

You must be prepared to spend some time at Sam's to get the most out of it, as it is not the kind of place you can run in and out of. If you have the time, you will find great wines and great prices, as well as wines that can't easily be found elsewhere. The staff is definitely hit or miss. I have had... read full review »

Always have a great selection of wine in stock

Everytime I have gone to Sam's the people are very helpful to me. One time and employee started to search the internet for a wine I had at a restraunt that I love. She looked up the restraunt and found there wine list for me. Then I was abe to get the right wine. I will always come back to Sam's.

First, I would like to say this is a great place if you want a wide selection of liquor at your finger tips. The staff seems to be very knowledgeable if it in there assigned area. I went to the beer section and I wanted to expand my  own selection and I asked the beer guy about the varieties that were available and he was fantastic he could tell you types, regions, countries and countless other info on the subject, and it has a very wide selection which would take you a couple of years to try them all.  Then I went over to Scotch malt liquor area (which I like when I smoke a cigar) once...

i had placed an order in early december, yes i know it's holiday time and yes i know that's when people place big orders. i was told mine would ship within 3 days, which was sweet, would be here on time for x-mas and since it was partly a gift my life wouldn't be bad. so then 4 days later i email them to ask if it's shipped or not or what the status of my order was. got nothing back. So I called them last monday, took about 20 minutes to not a get a busy signal on their customer service number, after i did get through, they did promise me they would i would get my order on time and it was all ready... read full review »

I WAS RUNNING LATE FOR A DINNER PARTY,WHEN I WENT TO SAMS.I HAD HEARD IT HAD A GOOD SELECTION OF WINES.IT WAS PACKED, BUT I FOUND SOMEONE TO HELP ME RIGHT AWAY. I TOLD THE SALES PERSON WHAT WAS ON THE MENU FOR THE PARTY.HE HAD FOUND ME AFEW GOOD BOTTLES FOR BETTER DINNER AND DURING DINNER.EVERYONE AT THE PARTY LOVED THEM AND THOUGHT THEY MATCHED PERFECTLY WITH THE MEAL.NOW A AM THE ONE TO PICK OUT THE PERFECT WINES FOR ANY PARTY.

Nice wine bar with very nice employees.  We stopped in for a glass of wine at the end of a Bears home game and although the staff informed us that they needed to close early for a private function, they still served us a glass and did not rush us out the door.  The cheese selection looked impressive and the prices seemed comparable.  I would love to go back again.

  I make a point of going to Sam's each time I am in the windy city.  It is worth the drive from any point in Chicago.  There is plenty of parking and helpful staff always assists by helping load my purchases into my vehicle.  There are hard to find wines and champagnes at reasonable prices.  Sam's has great prices on spirits as well.
