Sam's Club  —

I have been a member of Sam's Club for almost 8 years now and I love going there to browse and do my monthly meat shopping. Bulk packaging is the name of the game here and it can save you a lot of money.

Electronics

All sizes of HDTV televisions are on display here and you can easily compare between different models all at good prices. Batteries of all sizes as well as rechargeable batteries. Home security cameras, computers, cameras and sound systems for every taste. I walked in about a month ago and a beautiful television caught my eye, it was a 63" Plasma and had a decent price of $2,999.95 too bad thats a bit over what I can spend. Video games of all platforms with games and accessories for them are all lined up in a neat and orderly fashion.

Appliances

Washers, Dryers, Refrigerators and Freezers are here and waiting for you to pick which one you want. Not a big selection for such a big store but a few too choose from. They also have kitchen appliances for cooking, food storage and mixing. Many types of pot and pan sets as well as a few individual items are on the shelves.

General Stuff

They have many house cleaning supplies from soaps and bleach to polish. Laundry detergents and softeners as well as rags, mops and brooms. A large assortment of trash bags, food storage bags and deodorizers can be found as well.

    Pharmacy

They also have a pretty good pharmacy at Sam's Club with discount prescriptions just as Walmart has. I have never seen much of a line there and have been thinking of switching over to them as Walmart is always crowded. I did use them once to fill a prescription for my wife while we were on vacation and was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Grocery

My favorite part of the store here! They also have samples of many of their products for you to taste as you shop. They carry small cans and large commercial size cans of vegetables, juices, mashed potatoes and pudding. Sodas by the case or in large 2 liter bottles. Their meat department is fantastic and I always get between $100 to $150 worth of meat each trip and separate it when I get home into freezer bags. I have compared prices and by getting it in bulk form Sam's I save anywhere from 30 to 60 cents a pound and sometimes much more. 80/20 hamburger (Black Angus) for $1.98 a pound, 90/20 for $2.18 a pound. Boneless Pork ribs for $1.98 a pound, Chuck roast for $2.18 a pound. Their Lamb roasts are the cheapest I have found around here and they go for $4.98 a pound and that is boneless leg roasts.

Fresh Vegetables are here and also in bulk with a very nice variety of all of them. In season their strawberries, pineapple, oranges, cherries and blueberries can't be beat. Once in a while they will have potatoes in 50lb. bags and I like getting them that way too. Dairy products are great here as well and the frozen food section can save you a bundle.

Tires

Another of my favorite departments at Sam's is here where they carry car and truck tires of all sizes. If they don't have your size they will order it and in 3 days or less they will be there for you. I got a set of B.F. Goodrich tires for my truck a few months back and they had to order them. Even with a 3 day wait it was well worth it as I saved $25 per tire over all the other places around here! My last set of these 265/75/R-16 tires lasted over 50,000 miles and the spare I kept from that set still doesn't let Lincoln's head show when you check the tread depth! They were just at the wear bars when I replaced them and for a 4x4 pickup that is fantastic mileage on a set of tires!

Bottom Line

They offer great customer service and have a great selection of almost everything you could need under one roof. Personal items are another of their strong points as they have hair care, vitamins, sanitary products for women and shaving products. The stores are very clean for a warehouse environment and the prices are very competitive as well.

As long as you don't mind shopping in bulk then this place is fantastic. You can save a lot of money and make that dollar stretch.

I haven't been to Sam's in a while, but they used to also have great deals on cheeses and also fish.

Sounds great! I wonder if they'd have the tires for my car...
