We decided to travel to the Samoset Resort in Maine for the first time for our 7th wedding anniversary getaway.  We go somewhere every year.  Although Maine is only 6 hours from where we live, we had never been there before.  We were glad we went.  We decided on the Samoset especially for the golf course.  After booking online, we decided to call and upgrade our room.  We decided to book a suite with a balcony and our own private hot tub on the balcony.  When we arrived, we drove through the back nine of their private golf course.  The views were amazing. When we checked into the hotel by the wonderfully friendly staff... we were stunned at the gorgeous views of the ocean right off our balcony.  We could see the breakwater and the lighthouse right from our window.  The golf course was like nothing I had ever seen before.  Very meticulously maintained and very professional caring staff.  We had dinner at their 2 restaurants and had lunch at the Golf Clubhouse. The Lobster roll was the tastiest sandwich I had ever had for lunch delivered directly to our cart!  This hotel/resort was definitely worth the trip, the cost and we will definitely be back!
