I love to cook.  In 1972, my mother paid $60 for a 16 piece set that a dealer used for demonstration. Now that the handles are falling off my Salad Master pots and pans or about to fall off I am looking for replacements.  Yes, they have served me well. But they have had  all sorts of issues with hot spots so you end up burning things with tomato or potato.  I could never cook down preserves without scorching at any temperature.  And that screw that holds on the handle urghhh!!! Through out the 40 years I have used them the handles coming loose at dangerous moments has been an issue. I use natural gas to cook with and need a product thats spreads the heat evenly.  I will be replacing with heavy try ply bottoms, riveted handles, and all metal lids.  I do believe the 2 1/2 qt/ double boiler / steamer combo will be hard to replace.  I will especially not miss the rattling lids. If you peek on something cooking that has a delicate nature, you always paid with noise.   If you are buying new, I hope they have vastly improved the product for the price is high.

Actually the product is now completely new. The grade of steel is 316ti and the handles are detachable so you never have to worry about them coming loose 40 yrs from now. Each Saladmaster product comes with a lifetime warranty. Contact them and I'm sue you will be excited about the new line available.
