I tried other gates, they either didn't reach all the way, ripped off paint, or the lever to lock/unlock it were a pain in the butt! The Perfect Fit Gate from Safety First is great, it's got platic plates that screw into the walls, so that you're not hitting the same spots on the actual wall leaving dents or taking off the paint! Plus, you can open it with one hand...takes a little pratice, but well worth the $30 I paid for it
