Safety 1st swivel bath ring —

I wanted to review this Safety 1st Swivel bath ring for a couple reasons.  First, I like this product and find it helpful. Second, many people buy these second hand, or get them handed down, and may not have the safety information they should.

This swivel bath ring is a seat for a baby who is able to sit upright and has outgrown the infant tub.  The baby sits in it as it is suctioned to the tub bottom. It can swivel around to reach all sides of baby, and has these decorative bead type things on the front for baby to twirl. The bottom has four suction cups, which will not work on a textured tub bottom. This is key! If you have a texture on the tub floor, and most people now do, this product will not work, it just won't be safe.

My baby has always been bathed in the sink in an infant bath covered with a big sponge made for baby baths. This was always easy and comfortable, until she was too long and in danger of really hurting her head on the porcelain sink.   I needed something to help me hold her up and keep her from slipping...she is very active and loves to kick and grab things.  The tub rings they sell now connect to the tub and I have a very deep jet tub and this won't work.

The safety 1st swivel ring is a great product if used right. I use it in my sink, and it keeps her in place and allows the use of both my hands. Washing the baby's delicates is difficult as they are sitting, but it is not impossible. My girl loves being able to sit and move around and I  love being able to get her back and neck now.   I only need a half sink full of water, too! It sure beats having to fill up the tub and getting soaked.

Baby can NOT be left alone in this thing for even a second! Baby can slip down, the seat could become unattached, and it only takes a second for a baby to inhale enough water to drown.

If you come across a Saferty 1st swivel bath ring, and you have a little one, I say give it a try, just be safe with it. I find it very useful and effort and time saving, this works for me!

Thank you for the review. A friend of mine has one of these. She loves it.

I know someone with this. It's great. Definitely a mother's helper.
