Safety 1st Steady Grip Nail Clippers —

One of the things that they don't tell first time parents, is that you are going to have to trim the finger nails and toe nails of your baby.  Sure it seems like the most obvious thing in the world, but the need comes about in order to keep the baby from scratching herself.  Enter the point where you actually do have to trim their nails, and the first experience is typically a scary one for a first time parent.  That is where a product like the Safety 1st Steady Grip Nail Clippers really becomes a useful took for the parents and the baby.

As you can see in the picture, the clippers are presented with an extra-large handle that gives the user an easier grip on the clippers.  They work almost exactly like the cheap clippers you can find at most stores, with the difference being that these can be gripped more easily.  That grip means that you won't slip while trimming the nails, even if the baby starts moving around a lot.  The part that you depress to clip the nail also has a larger base so that it is also easy to depress the clippers while using them.  All of this leads to a lot more control of the clippers while they are in use, and gives parents the best chance possible to trim those nails without hurting the baby.

The ergonomic design of the Safety 1st Steady Grip Nail Clippers makes them comfortable to hold during the process, and even the clipper part itself is rounded to make sure that you can clip that nail in one quick gesture.  I think that these are a must-have for new parents, especially squeamish ones who hadn't thought that they would need someone in the house to cut the baby nails in the first place.  This is a device that not only makes it easier to work with the baby, but provides a peace of mind that makes us as parents dread the process much less.  These are highly recommended nail clippers, and I suggest that any new parent takes a look at them.  They sell for less than $3.00, and it is well worth it for the ease of use that this baby product provides.

Nice design and they look easy to hold on to! I remember when my baby brother was only a few weeks old and my mom clipped the tip of his toe when she was trimming toenails! It was wicked!

When my oldest nephew was born we were told to just bite the nails because we could be more careful not to nip his fingers. I gave him his first nail clip while he was sleeping. Worked well and no I didn't bite his finger nails.

I know my nephew scratched his face a few times when he was young. It seems like his nails were so sharp and his skin still so sensitive! I think my sister uses these.

I was always very nervous about clipping my kids' nails. Even more than clipping my dog's and my kids didn't bite if I made one wrong move but still. :)
