A Better Value

This is one of the best antibacterial soap compared to some of the other soaps. By it being solid, it's long lasting. I feel I get my money worth with safeguard. It doesn't wash away so quickly and best of all, it leaves you feeling fresh and clean.

Safeguard Antibacterial is a Good Value

4

Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap is a very good value. I first tried it when I got a great deal by using coupons, but now I buy it because I have found that it is effective and long-lasting. Safeguard is my favorite brand of bar soap to keep by both the kitchen and bathroom sink. It eliminates 99% of bacteria, and I feel confident that my hands are clean after use. The scent is somewhat fresh and clean without smelling like perfume or being overpowering. The bar is firm and remains firm from first to last use without becoming mushy or dried up. Safeguard generates a good lather throughout the whole bar as well. I have used many other brands that stop lathering up well when the bar is half gone; that is not the case with Safeguard. The performance of this bar soap is great, but an added bonus is the reasonable price that it is sold for. You sometimes "get what you pay for", but I feel that when purchasing Safeguard I am getting what I paid for and much more.

Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap

The first time I purchased Safeguard Antibacterial Soap, was also the last time I bought it! I have some positive remarks but unfortunately they are outweighed by the negative. What I like about it, other than the fact that it is slightly concave and therefore easier to hold and grip onto, is that it has antibacterial properties. When there are so many viruses and germs within reach, it is comforting to know that 99.99% of these are killed upon contact. The downsides of such an effective soap is that there is now serious debates as to whether we are opening ourselves up to future superbugs. However my personal reservations are a little closer to home. My son suffers from eczema and dry skin and Safeguard does unfortunately irritate his skin. The fragrance is do-able especially for our house which consists of mostly boys. It is inexpensive and easy to find. However I'd rather spend my money on Dove or Simple.

Not for me!

If you are looking for a basic soap that will get you clean than you might like this one. For me it was just okay. There wasn't a lot to this Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant soap. It does lather and clean you off. I will give it that. When it comes to scent I wasn't big on it. I could see this working better, in terms of scent, for a man. It has more of a cologne smell to it. The other reason that I didn't really like it was that it seemed to make my skin more dry than smooth. After my shower was over I was hoping for a smooth feeling on my body and not a tight/dry one. I also have sensitive skin though and that might play into it a little bit. You can buy this at a good price and it could work for your whole family. I just can find better soaps out there for the same price that work better. It's just okay in my opinion. Effectiveness It does the job of cleaning your skin and washing off dirt/sweat. I don't like the way it dries my skin out and that it doesn't leave my skin feeling soft. Scent I'm not a fan of the scent, but I can see it being more for a male than a female. It has a cologne scent to it.

Safeguard bar soap

Safeguard bar soap doesn't dry out your skin like liquid soap but it isn't the best I've tried. Dove or dial unscented bar soap have been the best for me. In the summer when I don't have such dry skin safeguard is a good cheaper bar soap but in the bitter cold of winter I switch to the better brands.

Cheap yet works great

I really enjoy this product in my home, the only problem I have with it is it seems to dry my skin out when used daily. Effectiveness It definitely keeps the germs and bacteria at a minimum. Since using this soap, less sickness has occurred in the house. Scent The smell is good, but tends to get a little over used.

A great soap, but not easy to find

5

I really like Safeguard soap, and every time I visit The Philippines, I'm surprised by how easy it is to find. It's affordable, gender neutral in scent (my husband doesn't complain about the soap making him smell like a lady) and good for sensitive skin. The only downside is that it's not readily available at stores in the USA, so I have to stock up when I do find it.

This is a soap that helps to promote "healthy" skin.

Safeguard is a gentle but effective soap that is nonirritating. Effectiveness The antibacterial properties are important today. The ability to protect skin from harmful bacteria is important for both health and hygiene. The strength this soap has to preform its protective functions does not cause it to be harsh. It is still gentle enough to use with children and is actually good for those people who have sensitive skin conditions. Scent There is no perfume scent to this soap. Fragrances can be irritating and I feel are unnecessary for soap to have. This is especially important to by husband.

Not A Favorite

On our quest to find a good soap for the guys in our family who were working grimy dirty jobs, we tried just about everything out there. One of the soaps we tried was Safeguard. There are two kinds- regular tan and white aloe. **INGREDIENTS** *Active Ingredients: Triclocarban ((1.2%)); Inactive Ingredients: Sodium Tallowate (and/or), Sodium Palmate, Sodium Cocoate (and/or), Sodium Palm Kernelate (Palm Kernel Oil), Water, Fragrance, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Coconut Acid, Palm Kernel Acid*, Tallow Acid*, Palm Acid*, Tetrasodium EDTA, Yellow 10 Aluminum Lake (CI 47005), Red 4** Effectiveness Both of these bars of soap didn't bring about big fans in our house. Each of us tried and tried to make ourselves like this soap, but we didn't do well with it. I felt that it stripped my skin too much and my husband and son didn't like the feeling it gave them or the smell. My daughter got itching problems from it. It did clean the skin well and washed off well though. As for deodorant, it did seem to work well through the day, so I have rated it a 3 as it DID deodorize and clean well enough. We just were not huge fans. Scent I was not a huge fan of the fragrance of the tan bar, but the aloe bar was nicer. The fragrance didn't linger too strongly when done either, so it didn't overpower all of the other smells of body products and colognes or fabric softener.

Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap had a good shape

3

Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap has a good shape.  I like its shape for a couple of reasons.  First, I like that it has a curved underside.  This is Great for when the soap is placed in the soap dish and your Little One did not shake off the excess water (so the water sits in the soak dish and uselessly disintegrates your soap).  With this indentation, I have some time before the water level reaches the soap, thus, not as much waste.  Yeah!  Also, the curved underside is a good gripper.  It is not a solid brick, so you can actually hold onto the soap more easily without it sliding out of your hands.  I'm not the biggest fan of the scent/fragrance, though.  It does clean your hands, though, and since I encourage frequent hand washing to help keep my family healthy, soap is important.  I would like to add that I was surprised to find an expiration date on the soap.  Really?  Does soap expire?  Safeguard Antibacterial Deodorant Bar Soap has a good shape.
