Been with Safeco over 10 years and have filed several claims.  All were quickly responded to and resolved to our satisfaction.

The auto repair companies I had fix my vehicles indicated they prefered working with Safeco over others because of their quick response to their questions and prompt payments....

I've been with Safeco for over 15 years now. Whenever I've had a claim, they have been there for me. I had one repair where they missed an item, but owned up to their mistake and paid for the repair. Two years ago, my rates started going up. I've had no claims in years, but the rates keep going up.... review »

I have been insured with Safeco for the last five years, dating back to when I lived in Florida. A big shout out to the guys and gals at Accord Insurance out on US1 South in St. Augustine, by the way. In any case, I currently have Safeco policies for home and auto, and find their services to be solidly adequate. The premiums aren't breaking me, and if I happen to crack up my car, neither will the deductible.

These days, I do everything over the phone, so the old-school personal approach I dealt with back in NE Florida has been supplanted by the automated menu of payment options on the Safeco 800...

I've been happy with SafeCo before last year.  The last 2 times my policy renewed, my premiums went up instead of down.  They offer decent coverage, but I've done some research recently and found cheaper and better coverage thru AIG.  I haven't switched yet, despite the hike in premiums I've stayed for the consistency in coverage and the good agent that I have. 

 

I don't recommend them if you're on a budget of any form.

This company has yet to back any accident that has happened. They like to find loop holes to get out of it. There is no point in paying for insurance with them if you're going to have to use it. You coulda just saved the money you payed for insurance and that would have payed for the accident repairs!

I recently found out after they sent my check back to me(after they held it for 2 1/2 weeks) that they cancelled my policy for non payment on the same day they sent my check back!

 

They said the post office ripped our payment in half but they how did it get delivered to safeco w/o a stamp??  It was obviously ripped in house.  They sent our payment to another office to figure out what to do because the zip code on the envelope when we got the check back 2 1/2 weeks later it was different from the zip code we sent it.

 

Yes, we had an accident during this 2 1/2 weeks...and yes they denied the claim....

i have been a customer of safeco for about 3 years now.  i have had no tickets or accidents or claims.  and my premium has been increased several times. the web site allow you to ask questions.  but you cannot get answer from the email.  you must call the 1 800 number# .   so why have the site allow you to ask questions ?        My biggest problem with all insurance companies.  is why are they allowed to use your credit report for insurance?  why not use each individual drivers records ? what has my credit to do with my driving ? if i have good credit and a good driving record they... review »

I have been with Safco auto insurace for about twelve years now and I am very happy with the business I have had with them. I have not ony had auto insurance with Safeco but renters insurance as well. I have a very resonably priced policy that comes directly out of my account every month and if I ever have a problem with my policy I contact my agent who then contacts Safeco direclty and questions or concerns are addressed at that time. I have recently experienced a hit and run accident and Safeco was very helpful with receiving the claim and making sure not ony my car was taken care of and fixed...

I switched from AIG to Safeco for a savings of over $200 per year. I have made changes to the policy and have always had good customer service. Luckily, I have not had to file a claim, knock on car.

I've been with SafeCo for more years than I care to admit.  I recieve offers from insurance companies every day, but I wouldn't dream of changing companies.  I'm a 50 year old female driver who has had one ticket in my entire life...and that was when I was speeding trying to get my daughter to the hospital to deliver my first grandchild.  I've always relied on SafeCo to give me the best, and they've never failed me.

We have had Safeco for more than 30 years.  Over that period of time - we have had several claims, and all were taken care of in a VERY timely manner, and with no worries or fussing on our part.

As for the rates going up ---------What ISN'T?????

Still haven't found a company that can beat the rates we have with SAFECO.

First I would like to say thanks to Kelly-Rudd Insurace Agency for always working with us and with Safeco to get the best service we need. Safeco has been great with us. We haven't noticed any rate increaces even though we have fairly bad credit and have had to file a few claims on both our cars. Not our fault except for the fact that we can't afford to move out the neighborhood we live in. Both of our cars have had busted windows and one of them at the same time the window was busted, the people who did it tried to start the car with a screw driver or something and busted the ignition and few...

I was in a fix.  My homeowners' insurance had cancelled our policy when we finished paying off the house, as it was attached to our equity payment, and hadn't bothered to tell us!  For several years, we had no homeowners' insurance -- and didn't even know it!  Finally, when trying to get a home equity loan for kids' college expenses, we discovered that we had no homeowners' insurance!!!  And, of course, the original company (with whom we'd never had a claim, and for whom we'd always paid promptly) denied any responsibility, and wanted an exorbitant amount of money to reinstate us.  I called... review »

In May of 2008, a tornado came through our neighborhood. The next day I called Safeco, our homeowners insurance carrier. Two days later, a special disaster adjustor came to our residence! The people across the street from us had to wait over a week to see an adjustor from their more exspensive insurance carrier. My husband and I have had Safeco auto insurance now since 2006. We switched to them on a recommendation by a car dealer we were buying a car from. We had perviously had insurance from geico, progressive, and esurance. At the time we called to get a quote for Safeco auto insurance we currently had insurance through esurance. After calling for a Safeco quote within minutes we had our rate. The rate drop was about 100 dollars from esurance and even more from our two other insurance companines we had prior to esurance.
