There are good things about this little camera. It is lightweight and the 2.4" color LCD monitor is a good size compared to the camera. The speaker picks up sound pretty well, so the sound on videos is good. It makes decent videos as well. Not the best, but probably good enough for You tube. It runs off of AA batteries which are easy to get. The settings are basic and will probably be easy to figure out. Might be good for a technophobe. It can take still images and videos, or just record audio. There are some problems, though. It needs a lot of light to take even decent pictures, so don't even bother in low lighting situations. Also, the macro only magnifies things a very small amount. You'll hardly be able to tell the difference. A bigger problem is the way it interfaces with your computer. As soon as you put the photos on the computer, they are erased from the camera. That means if anything goes wrong, you've lost the photos. It comes with a not very user-friendly software. The photo software I already have on my computer works better. This is probably not the best camera you can get for the money.
