I have finally found a retractable, compact powder brush. I have been wanting a 2nd Powder Brush for a long time now. I had not seen these for years - and I was so glad to find the Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush on Drugstore.com.

So often when I find a product that I like, it seems to become a hard-to-find-item. So when I located the Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush, I was ecstatic.

But it is longer and fatter than the Powder Brush that I currently have. I would prefer a Powder Brush to be at least as small as my current oval-shaped Powder Brush - 4 ¼" X 1" X ¾".   The Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush is 4 ¾" long, 7/8" round.

Since I have oily skin, I like to keep a powder brush with me so that I can easily refresh-and-powder my already-applied makeup.

  • Before going out, I apply my loose or compact face powder onto my compact Powder Brush [which fits in my purse better than carrying a compact pressed powder makeup case, for touch-ups].
  • I dab-off the extra powder from the Powder Brush - and then I twist-down and close the brush into the Powder Brush-Case.

The Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush retracts - which makes it small enough to fit in a purse or even a wristlet - or even in the glove compartment - for quick face-powdering.

I did not like the non-sealed packaging of the Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush. It came in a plastic snap-case, but it was not sealed for sanitary purposes.  I have not yet used the Studio Basics Retractable Powder Brush - I am still using my current Powder Brush.
