SOYJOY Bars

I have Celiac Disease, which prevents me from eating foods with gluten and wheat in it. I found a great deal on the SOYJOY Bars at Rite-Aid a few weeks ago. I purchased a few of these bars to see how I liked them. They are yummy and the best snack bar I've tried that is Gluten-Free. Rite-Aid is having another sale on the SOYJOY Bars in a few weeks. I will definitely be purchasing more of them.

Each SOYJOY Bar is baked with whole soy and real dried fruit. It is an all-natural snack bar. There are NO Artificial Colors or Flavors, Trans Fats, Hydrogenated Oils or Gluten in these bars. Each bar has between 130-140 calories, contains four grams of protein, and three grams of fiber. There are six flavors to choose from such as the Apple Walnut, Berry, Mango Coconut, Peanut Chocolate Chip, Raisin Almond, and Strawberry. I have tried all the flavors except the Peanut Chocolate Chip bar. This must be a popular flavor because Rite-Aid is always out of them. My favorite SOYJOY Bar is the Strawberry flavor.

I like the texture of the bar. The SOYJOY Bars are easy to bite into and chew. It has a real good flavor to it. These bars are more chewy than crunchy. There is no coating or frosting on the bar. I've had a few bits of fruit to stick to my teeth, but that happens with any kind of fruit bar. The SOYJOY Bar measures approximately 4" x ¾".

I would recommend the SOYJOY Bars to anyone looking for a Gluten-Free, healthy, and all natural snack bar. These bars do cost a little more than other brands. However, they have been on sale lately at Rite-Aid. I only purchase them if I have a coupon or they are on sale. I give it 4 Stars!

It sure is. I have been finding more GF foods on sale or have a coupon for it. It is hard to find GF foods where I live. The grocery stores here in Georgia are starting to sell more GF foods. I'm going to post a review on 5 GF frozen dinners that I found recently sometime today. Watch for it. Thanks for reading and sending me a comment.

Cool--found it on sale too. It's hard to afford having celiac disease, isn't it? Glad you found something that's fairly easy to find!

I was glad to find these SOYJOY bars and that I liked them too. Some of the gluten-free bars I have tried I really didn't like them. I like the strawberry and berry flavors the best. Thanks for reading and sending me a comment. =) ~Krista Lynn

I still cannot find the peanut chocolate chip SOYJOY bar. Maybe I'll get to try this flavor one of these days. It seems like Georgia is always the last place to get a new product or a popular item. Thanks for reading my review! =)

TunefulGal wrote on Feb 25, 2009 at 11:39PM

These sound dee-lish. Why don't they put more peanut chocolate chip ones out in the first place? Those flavors are always monster seller in any product. You wonder how these food guys think. (Or, IF they think?)

If the Herbalife bars are gluten-free, it will have it printed on the package usually in BOLD letters. Sometimes it'll say Gluten-Free or Wheat-Free. Thanks.

Hi Krislynn,

If food is gluten-free, would it say that in big letters on the packaging? I don't see any reference to gluten on the box of Herbalife protein bars.

The best flavor I like is the strawberry. We all have different taste buds. Sometimes I think my taste buds are so different from everybody else because of the way I have been eating in the past six years due to my celiac disease. LOL!

If the Herbalife bars are gluten-free, I may try them out?

LOL @ your comment about being the only person who likes these. I've tried a couple of them and didn't care for them but I would be willing to try other flavors.

I've been eating protein bars from Herbalife lately and really like them. I'm planning to review some in the next few days.

LOL! I'm beginning to think I'm the only person that likes these bars. I tried the LUNA bars a few years ago and I hated those. Thanks for reading and sending me a comment. :-)

PattyTherre wrote on Jan 26, 2009 at 12:32AM

LOL. I hated these. I just couldn't deal with the texture. I am glad you found a bar you can eat though.

The only other brand I have tried was the LUNA bars and they tasted awful. I liked the SOYJOY bars better. Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a great week! =) ~Krista Lynn

I'm not familiar with the Frunola ones. Did you have a bad experience? This is the second brand I have tried. The LUNA bars I tried tasted awful. It is a hit or miss when buying food that is gluten-free. You don't always know if it is going to taste good or awful. Thanks for reading and commenting. I always enjoy hearing back from everyone. Have a great Sunday! ;-) ~Krista Lynn

From the looks of it you have plenty to choose from. I don't think I could handle them but I am glad that you found something pleasant and healthy as a snack alternative. ~Gigi

I'm so leary about these kinds of bars since I tried the Frunola ones! Glad you like them though!
