The SM2000 Walking Pedometer is a basic pedometer that Viewpoint reviewers have mixed opinions on. While less than half owners say the SM2000 Pedometer is a good basic pedometer for counting steps, slightly more than half say the SM2000 is unreliable and counts lots of missteps as well. Bottom line is basically that the SM2000 Walking Pedometer is a very basic model and should not be used for 100% accuracy. . I HAVE FOUND WHEN I USE MY PEDOMETER I WANT TO CONTINUE WALKING BECAUSE IT SHOWS YOU HOW FAR YOU HAVE WALKED AND YOU WANT TO KEEP BUILDING UP YOU DISTANCE. it's basic, but okay if that's what you're looking for.

walking and running, doing aerobics, playing recreational sports, into yoga/pilates, strength training

It's good if counting steps is what you're looking for, but if you're looking for more advanced equipment, I suggest looking into something like the Polar brand items that offer heart rate monitors, calories burned, etc. I do a lot of cardio type workouts and prefer the more advanced equipment, but its all based on your individual levels of exercising needs.
