Quick View: My son wanted a pedometer to see how much he was walking during the day and I knew he wouldn't be using it as more than a novelty so I bought him a cheapo one. It's REALLY cheaply made. It doesn't have any reliability at all.

About SM2000 Walking Pedometer

This pedometer is the most basic one I ever saw. In fact, I think I got one free at McDonald's during some sort of fitness thing once that was better than this. It is a very little plastic rectangular thing that simply counts steps. Nothing else. No memory, no calories burned, no distance. Just steps. You have to wear it on your waistband like most pedometers and it counts when you take a step. Or move. Or sneeze. Or even THINK about moving. My son walked 50 steps and the pedometer said 114. He walked 100 and it said 216. Once he was watching TV and the thing said he had walked 59 steps while he was sitting there. Not good. I bought this pedometer at Amazon for just $2.75 marked down from $9.99 and there is good reason for that. This is junk! It's not even a novelty. It's totally inaccurate. The thing is small at one inch by one and a half inches and can be reset at any time. It tends to reset when you touch it because the little reset button is in a bad spot. In all, this is junk. Pay a tad more for more accuracy.

My Viewpoint

What can I say about the SM2000 Walking Pedometer? I know! Don't buy one. The cheap price is too high for the inaccurate readings. It really isn't good for anyone. It's a waste of money. 1 star.
