Fuji - Finepix S1000fd Digital Camera

Fuji - Finepix S1000fd Digital Camera
a techie

I was lucky and was able to purchase this camera on a discount due to the retailer closing down. I absolutely love this camera. Before I bought this camera I owned a cheap Kodak digital camera which broke after dropping it. This is my first SLR camera that I have ever owned and I have to admit, I was a little imitated by all the buttons/options/etc. even with my camera experience. Although, I was able to learn how to use the camera without even looking at the manual. Even though it looks complicated it is relatively easy to learn even for a beginner. The 2.5' LCD viewing screen...

Canon - EOS 400D/Rebel Xti Digital Camera

Canon - EOS 400D/Rebel Xti Digital Camera

We have owned 35mm film cameras for many years.  We love taking pictures.  It would be common for us to take at least 1500 pictures on a vacation.  The problem is, we couldn't preview the pictures and would take several of the same things or of the same peoples pose just in case someone was blinking etc.  I, the main picture taker, went screaming and kicking to look at digital cameras.  I felt disloyal to my 35mm that I loved.  I was talked into trying the Canon eosd 400 rebel.  I have to say, it was nice to know that I could just click away knowing that I was not wasting film.  In testing...

Nikon - D50 Digital Camera

Nikon - D50 Digital Camera
somewhat tech savvy, Willing to pay for quality

I have been using the Nikon D50 with my students in photography for the last semester and I must say that these cameras are built like tanks. Kids really don't care for them well, but there have been no issues with any of them so far except for a vandalized USB port. These cameras take pictures of amazing quality and are really easy to use. My students and I love the knob that lets you select many different types of features from motion and macro to landscape and night photos. One cool feature is the bulb mode, where you can use flashlights to draw anything that the camera will capture. For example,...

Panasonic - DMZ-TC5 Digital Camera

Panasonic - DMZ-TC5 Digital Camera

When we were looking for a new digital camera (since digital cameras are like computers - there's always something new and improved) we had a tough time trying to find the right one. There are SO many to choose from and different stores carry different models of the same brand, so it was really tough to choose a good camera for what we needed for.

We've never tried a Panasonic camera before so we weren't too sure about the quality and the usability. But after looking at and testing out many digital cameras for several weeks, we saw the Panasonic Lumix on sale. It was already on our list of cameras...

Fuji - FinePix S5100 Zoom Digital Camera

It's me usually asking the kids "which button does this and what does this button do" well not anymore, this camera is so easy I can figure it out without assistance from the kids. Easy location for all buttons, nice size not too heavy, I really like the feature where you can pick the shutter speed and how many pictures in a row it will take on auto shoot. Nice size viewing area, never had any problems, good size internal memory.

Canon - PowerShot A410 Digital Camera

Canon - PowerShot A410 Digital Camera

I have had much experience with Canon digital cameras. Most of my experiences have been positive with them. The recently released Canon Powershot A410 combines all the positive aspects of Canon digital cameras into a well-rounded product. 3.2 megapixels is enough for any average photographer. The best thing in my opinion is the 3.2 optical zoom. Many times you don't find an optical zoom on cameras in this price range. Optical zoom is important because it allows for more clear and precise zooming as opposed to digital zoom. If you want a small camera, the size of the Canon Powershot A410 is perfect....

I recently purchased the Nikon D700 and it has everything I could want on a camera in this price range and more. Nikon has really brought this to the edge of the competition.
