Canon EOS 1D Mark III Digital Camera
Continuous shooting yielded an average of 5 frames per second, just as Canon claims. The camera can capture up to 12 consecutive RAW images or 56 full-resolution JPEGs with JPEG quality set to 8 instead of its top setting of 10. A little counter in the viewfinder shows you how many more images can be stored in the buffer while you're in continuous shooting mode. The 1D Mark III is the real speed freak of the Canon tribe, turning in 9.9fps in our tests, though it has just less than half the number of pixels that this camera has.

Nikon - d300 Digital Camera
For the most part, Nikon sticks with the tried-and-true body design and interface of the D200, with its intelligently laid out controls. The dust- and weatherproof body weighs a hair over 2 pounds, and feels as solid as a little tank. The viewfinder is bigger and brighter, with 100 percent coverage. I have owned almost every edition of the Canon “G” series cameras, including the G3, G5, G6, G7, G9 and G10. In case you’re wondering about the G4 and G8…there weren’t any. Canon - EOS Digital Rebel Xsi Digital Camera
I've been wanting a Digital SLR camera for a very long time and Costco had a deal with two lenses, SD card, EOS Xsi body and bag. I was excited to get started and after some researching and time spend on the support page to figure out timers and the differences between manual modes and automatic modes I really enjoy using it. The camera is not necessraily intuitive unless you're on the automatic modes.
One of my irritants with the camera is that in Live View mode (where you see in the image on the screen) the camera can't auto-focus. So you either need to focus yourself or keep switching...

I love my Canon powershot. It was extremely reasonably priced, it's small but very sturdy. The pictures are wonderful and clear. One reason I chose this camera was because my son plays sports. The camera seems to 'follow' well...without blurring, that is. The zoom focuses well and really captures those 'moments' that you don't really want to miss! The faces he makes when he's playing are hilarious...the intensity level is captured quite well. I'm very happy with the camera. I love to take pictures and my camera really enhances my experience!
