tech remotely connected with me, got adware and done wrong

1 star rating

somewhat tech savvy
Cons
horrid customer service, masters at passing the responsibility, no english speaking operators, their customer service sucks, why aren't the techs located in the US?

I have MS, I work from home and on thursday july 9th I called my ISP AT&T for help with an email account in outlook, the tech wanted to connect to my computer remotely but could not, so he had me turn my firewall off, still he could not connect so he told me to turn my virus protection off, I did, and it took about 2 hours of him emailing back and forth to get it straight, when I hung up I turned my firewall back on, but could not turn my virus software back on, I rebooted my computer and SystemSecurity2009 was on my computer, it took over my desktop, and redirects my browser while intermittently running fake virus scans and telling you that your computer is infected.   I spent a week talking to aproximately 90 different people and finally filed a claim with the AT&T company within a company, called Sedgewick, who has told me that it doesn't matter who I call or who I file a cliam with ie the BBB or State attorney General or the Federal Trades Commission, all they are going to do is make AT&T acknowledge me which they are doing right now, so they have an added 14 days (21 days total from the time of infection without being able to work) to decide if they are going to repair, replace or do nothing, meanwhile I cannot work and the stress from this has caused me to have an MS relapse. They decided it was my fault for agreeing to let their tech connect with me. I have Time Warner now.
