we woke up sunday morning to a smokey smelled, orangey colored sky and and our vehicle covered with ash from the fires.  my guy and i opted for a drive over to the westside (culver city - santa monica area) to try and get a breath of clean air and have some breakfast at rutt's.

rutt's is a casual place where a lot of locals go for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.  they also have catering available.  we ordered the hawaiian french toast and the buttermilk pancakes they make from scratch.  everything was delicious!  next time we'll definitely have to try their famous royales.

not significant, but the santa ana winds must've blew a bit of the smoke over because i noticed a bit of more ash collected onto our black colored vehicle.
