Comments about Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel:

Around my house we do everything ourselves so we have tried a lot of paints ranging from rather cheap to fairly expensive. The Rust-oleum paints are my favorite for painting metals. We do demolition derbies all summer long and paint about 6-10 cars every year. We have used other brands of paint to make the designs and pictures on the cars and have had major problems. In the past we have had to completely start over on our cars because we tried using cheap paints. I have tried exterior paints that specifically said were for use on metals and nothing has ever come close to the Rust-oleum brand. I have had a ton of paints bubble up or peel right off the cars but that has never happened with this stuff. It goes on thick and in most cases doesn't require a second coat. I bought the other brands to save money and because I was scared of using the oil based paints and it ended up being a headache and cost more money in the long run. When painting cars or anything that will be exposed to the weather I will always use Rust-oleum because there is no other brand that can come close. It really does stop rust and works great. I highly recommend this paint to anyone who needs to paint things that will be outside and to stop rust. We have used it on a crazy amount of things around our house and have yet to be unhappy with it. I find a little goes a very long way also. Its definitely worth the money and I will continue to buy and use it as long as it is avaliable. I have bought the different colors they have and keep them in my garage in case a project comes along that I need it for. Everyone who paints themselves should have this stuff on hand because there really is so many uses for it. It goes on smooth and looks really nice when it dries and offers good protection against the elements. None of our stuff has rusted through or faded so I'm 100% happy with all of my results.

    Awesome Paint Job!

Comments about Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel:

I would've never believed that painting a truck with Rust-oleum Flat Protective Enamel was possible until my husband and I actually tried it. We purchased a Chevrolet Z71, the truck had some minor body damage, the previous owner had already started fixing this truck then we took on the task of painting it. We checked the prices on a professional paint job, keep in mind it cost more for larger vehicles. I decided to look on YouTube for ideas on painting the truck myself. Well, Rust-Oleum is a great paint for this project. I found a number of videos where Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel is used to paint vehicles.I purchased this paint in black, used paint rollers and a hair dryer. This paint glides on and leaves a rather thick coat. I used the hair dryer to get rid of the bubbles in the paint, and I'm seriously amazed at how smooth the paint becomes. This truck had little to no rust, I feel confident that this paint will protect the body of my Z71. The finished product looked amazing, it looked close to a job done at Maaco. My husband finished by adding a clear protective coat, we used Rust-Oleum clear in a can and when we finished up by adding a pin stripe, this paint job is close as one can get to a professional paint job.

Comments about Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel:

How can I forget to write a review for Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel. This was the first ever paint I purchased inspired by the DIY projects my friends used to do. I also developed the interest for the same and started doing it a few years back. My first ever project was to give a new look to an old table, I bought on Craigslist. Honestly, I had no expectations of what it would turn into, since I had never painted before. Thanks to the Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel to how it covers all the blemishes and damage. It had excellent coverage, I did 2 coats though. Later, I used the same paint for many more things around, like spare wine bottles, glasses etc. Though, this paint is designed for metals but, I guess it covers all the surfaces really well. It takes about 2 hours to dry completely. If an amateur like me could use it well, wonder what the professionals could use this for.

Comments about Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel:

I have used the Rust-Oleum brand of paint for as long as I can remember for all kinds of outside painting projects. I use it mostly on metal surfaces. I had a metal park bench that was getting rusty that I painted with black Rust-Oleum and it looked brand new! I painted my wash line poles with Rust-Oleum a few years ago and still haven't had to repaint them. The paint holds up well and is my go to paint for all my outside metal paint projects.

    Quality
I have always trusted the Rust-Oleum brand. The paints are always top quality and hold up well.

    Durability
The things that I have painted with the Rust-Oleum paints have all held up great. The paint lasts for years through lots of different kind of weather

    Coverage
The Rust-Oleum paint is very easy to apply and the coverage is great. I usually only have to apply one coat of the paint to most of my metal projects.

    Ease of Appliation
This paint is very easy to apply. I usually use a throw away brush which makes the clean up very easy.
