I am always looking for high fiber snacks, while looking for Pria power bars, I came across the Russell Stover sugar free snack bars in blueberry flavor. I happen to really like blueberry and I saw they had 6 grams of fiber so I figured I would try them.
The box contains five 1.1 oz. bars. Each bar has 100 calories and is fortified with 25 % of 18 vitamins and minerals. The bars contain no sugars but do contain 9 grams of sugar alcohol. The box says the sugar alcohol is sugar substitute that metabolize slower than regular than carbs and therefore only cause a small rise in blood glucose levels. They would make a good snack as each bar also contains 4 grams of protein.
The initial taste is very good and the bars are very chewy. The combination of chocolate, blueberry and granola is very good. However to me they seemed to leave that artificial sweetener aftertaste. I will eat the rest of the box, but probably will try something else next time.
However if you need fiber and can't have the sugar of other high fiber snacks, theses would be perfect for you.
