Texas is famous for many things, but the thing I was itchin' to try was its world-renowned barbecue (I'm for sure not itchin' to try its world-renowned death penalty). Yeah, I'm a sucker for something that's both tasty and bad for you, and I'm quite a fan of Southern BBQ in general. Back in Florida, there was some excellent barbecue, my favorite variety being pulled pork slathered in a mustard-based sauce with slaw and beans on the side. WHILE BEING IN AUSTIN (ROUND ROCK) ON BUSINESS FOR A FEW MONTHS FROM THE NEW YORK METRO AREA I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO FIND RUDY'S.  I CAN TRULY SAY THAT THE FOOD THAT IS OFFERED THERE IS SOME OF THE BEST BBQ THAT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE !  THE CREAMED CORN WAS DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND A MUST TRY ! Pretty good barbecue if you are close by the area but there is better Que around. I like Opies out in Spicewood best but also like Salt Lick and Iron Works. Iron Works ribs and brisket at Opies are the best and my favorties. Hey, when on a budget or wanting convenience, precooked HEB brisket is pretty good.
