If you are a frequent cook, you have probably used Rubbermaid TakeAlongs in one size or the other. They are handy little plastic containers with lids for storing foods. I use these just about every day that I cook a meal, which is usually dinner during the weekdays.

Rubbermaid TakeAlongs 2 Deep Square

The 2 Deep Square side is one that I use frequently at my house. It holds a fair amount of food that will equal 5.2 cups. This is the perfect size for storing leftovers, or even bringing a one dish meal for lunch to work. I often use them for bringing a salad to work with me for lunch.

What makes these plastic dishes so special? There are several things that stand out. First of all, the lid has an oversize tab which makes taking the lid on or off very easy. Each dish has a small handle on each side that allows you to pick up the bowls if you have just placed hot food inside without burning your fingers or hands. The bowls are clear so you can easily see what you have stored inside without removing the lid.

Rubbermaid TakeAlongs 2 Deep Square dishes come 2 to a package and retail for anywhere from $.99 to $1.99 a package. This is a great deal for a versatile dish that can be used over and over again.

I like these dishes because they are so handy. They are well made and stand up to heat in a dishwasher just fine. The lids fit well, seal airtight and keep foods fresh. They are also great for taking a dish to work with you for lunch. The only complaint I have with them is that sometimes they will get a stain from spaghetti sauce or any food with a tomato paste base.

Overall, they are a good quality and sold at a very affordable price. They come in several different sizes and are sold at most grocery stores, as well as mass merchandising stores. Thumbs up!

Thanks, cmohr80, I don't like to use in microwave often cause it messes them up. For leftovers in the frig, they are great!

I get nervous about using plastic containers. Especially if you use them in the microwave! I found out that when you microwave something in a plastic bowl, any plastic bowl, the chemicals that make up the plastic container bleeds into the food you're microwaving and causes serious damage to your digestive system! It's part of the reason why many people are overweight. Just so you know. ;o)

These work so great and love that the cover doesn't pop off like others do. These have been my new best friend for some time now. :)

I use the smaller ones that hold a sandwich but I like them and store my sliced tomatoes from the garden...;)
