Good Construction But Hard To Clean

3

When I saw this in the store I thought that I simply had to get one since it was such a great idea. I could take my orange juice with me on my commute without spilling any. The idea was good, but the reality was not so good. The straw is annoying and if you don't have a dishwasher, as I don't, it is nearly impossible to fully clean and disinfect. The bottle part is also difficult to clean thoroughly, even when I purchased a bottle scrubbing brush specifically to scrub out this bottle. On the plus side, it is quality construction. It is a nice, thick plastic that does not bend. It also does not discolor if you put juice or Kool-Aid in it. It doesn't hold on to odors either. So, if you have orange juice one day and want to take milk in it the next your milk won't have a vague orange juice flavor to it. Overall, these are a good idea, but they're just not sanitary and for that reason I had to stop using mine and ultimately recycled it.

Rubbermaid Litterless Juice Box

4

I like the idea behind these little juice boxes however in reality, they're not quite as good as they seem. I purchased two of these to go in both my sons lunch boxes because I wanted something reusable which would not add more trash to the dump heaps! Rubbermaid make some extremely durable stuff and initially I thought I couldn't go wrong. The first problem was that both my sons ended up with wet lunches and I don't know if there was a leak before lunch or whether the fact that they could not quite empty them, meant that some leaked during lunch. They were also a little tricky to clean. I got a pipe cleaner to them and that did the trick but really, I didn't want the continual hassle or expense of buying pipe cleaners. On the plus side they were inexpensive and the idea of trying to avoid more trash is great in principal. With a couple of minor adjustments, this could be a good product potentially.

These Are GREAT In Theory, But Sadly Not In Our Household

3

When I first saw Rubbermaid Litterless Juice Boxes, I was so excited. I have always been interested in throwing away as little as possible in terms of trash, even before it was considered in fashion to do so. The Rubbermaid Litterless Juice Box is a plastic box shaped so that the holder can get a good grip on it. There is a screw on lid with a flip top on it so that you can flip it up and drink the juice. The top is sealed when screwed down so that there is not any leaking of the juice out of the top. The idea of these juice boxes is fantastic. They hold quite a bit of juice compared to the juice boxes you buy- not quite double the amount. Once you are done with the juice, you clean it and are good to go again. No waste, right? Well, unfortunately, there were some drawbacks of these juice boxes that I came across which made them not work for our family. First of all, when my daughter was smaller, not being able to get all of the juice out of the box frustrated her. As she got old enough to take the top off, that became rather messy too. Another problem was mold. In a perfect world where all worked as it should, I would clean the boxes right away. in our world, however, these boxes would be misplaced in the car, under chairs, behind pillows, in toy boxes, or other areas much after they were finished. Covered in mold made them hard to clean up well and that became a big problem. Also, the flip top lid was hard to clean in the crevices and small areas as well. The last reason that these did not work out for my family is that when they were not being used, they were not easy to store. Somehow someone would remove the lid or put the bottom away without waiting for the lid and inevitably the lids got lost. I tried to re-purchase these several times and I just gave up. As much as I dislike unnecessary trash, these boxes were so much trouble, we found ourselves having to get other juice boxes so often, I stopped using them. Just too much hassle for us.

Rubbermaid Litterless Juice box works good.

I have a rubbermaid litterless juice box and they are great for adults but not forkids well at least the younger kids.  i got one and was hoping that my grandkids would use it but  when they get to the bottom they want to tip it up side down and that doesnt work because they get so mad that they can not get and juice out.  It does work great if you are looking for something for the husband to take to work and have a n extra drink for them. I like how much it holds and that you can get a good amount in them. They dont hardly cost anything so you are not going to spend a great deal of money on them.  I stick them in the dishwasher and I think it helps clean the litttle parts in them and so it gets the starw nice and clean.  They do have a tight lid and I have not had them leak all over my stuff like some of the other cups that my kids are using. These are great to have for the outside and they store easy.

I have had some of these sippin' saver juice style boxes for at least five years...I sent them in with lunch with one child until fifth grade when her friends started giving her grief over carrying 'juice boxes' to school.  I would fill them containers with water and store in the fridge and she could grab one each day for school...they don;t take up much room. These bottles are slightly textured for better grip...they come with a little straw and all though I have seen where you can buy a straw cleaning brush, I never have.  I have also never replaced the straws if lost (or if they have gotten too icky) the kids can just tip the drink up and the are fine,,,they only really leak it you hold them upside down with the flip top open, These can take a beating...sadly they are a tiny pain to hand wash but not enough to discourage purchasing.  They also do not fit in my car cup holders so I don;t really have them in the car...great size for lunch boxes.  I use a toothpick to clean the top for those bottles that get lost under the sofa...you know the ones.

Not just for babies!

I have found that these bottles are NOT just for babies!! When I go on long trips, I pack enough for my 1, 2, and 3 year olds, but ALSO one for my 17 and 19 year old!! If they get thirsty on the long trip, they can have one of these bottles and I don't have to worry about a mess in my car!!

Good for bigger kids

This was a good cup for a bigger kid.  My son loved to feel like a grown up with this Rubbermaid flip top cup.  Made of much more durable plastic than the other cheaper knock offs.  There was a few down falls though.  If the flip top straw was not all the way open nothing would come out, which would cause my son to ask repeatidly for me to help him fix it.  He would say it was broken.   And if flip top was left open and it tips to the side it leaks, not very bad but enought to drive me crazy on the wood floors.  Great way to make a kid feel grown up.  Plus you dont have to worry about a huge mess on the floor like with a cup with no lid.
