The Royal Sonesta is a beautiful hotel with great staff and great rooms that are spacious. Access is easy from Memorial Drive. We had a room with a view of the river and the Boston skyline, it was wonderful. There is a very nice shopping mall right across the street, you can access the subway (the... read full review »

The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge was nice but I felt the bathroom was small. The shower was a stall, not a tub. I also felt that the room was small. A king bed took up 3/4 of the room. The subway stops were rather long walks from the hotel, which was not fun in 90 degree weather. Good points included... read full review »

The best thing about this hotel was the view. It was beautiful. My room was on the ninth floor which overlooked the Charles River and you could see the city lights in the background. They had wireless internet all over the hotel, so that was great. The rooms were a little small but I didn't mind because I was by myself. If I had taken my family, we would have been a little cramped. The hotel was right across from the Cambridge Galleria Mall and the Cheesecake Factory restaurant. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was that it had no vending machines. There was a gift shop that... read full review »

The mall was across the street . In the mall was a food court. I rented a car , it was hard to get around Boston. We drove to Cap Cod , to go whale watching . Had a great time we drove to the very end . Had a quaint little shopping and eatting places . (about 2hours away. It's worth the trip ) The next day we drove to Yorkshore , Maine . We found another quaint little town full of shops .GOOD FOOD . DRIVE ALONG HIGHWAY 1A TO SEE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VEIW OF BEACHES . The Royal Sonesta is a great hotel . I alway felt safe .At the end of each day the hotel has free ice cream . Free bikes to ride... read full review »

Hotel staff was fantastic. Very friendly. The room was small but clean and overall has a very modern feel. The water view isn't really worth the extra money, the only view is from a small sliding door that goes out to an approximately 3 foot by 3 foot balcony. The exterior of the hotel could use some updating. The restaurants are average. One is basically just a continental breakfast and the other has made to order food, but it is overpriced and not very good. Location is good. It is a nice area of Cambridge and is only a few blocks from the closest T station. Parking is another con. $27 per night... read full review »

The room was very comfortable, and I had a nice view of the Charles River. The hotel provided a fee shuttle service to 2 different locations, which was a real plus. Both weekend nights we took the 6 pm shuttle to Quincy Market, had dinner (one night in Italian North End) and got the return shuttle back at 9:20. It was plenty of time for dinner and walking around. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from a T, which we took during the day, to Haymarket, and from there walked all over Boston. We had a beautiful walk back over the Longfellow Bridge across the Charles. Sunday we checked out,... read full review »

The hotel was in a great location. Very close to the subway, mall, restaurants, and downtown Boston. An upper level room gives great views of the Charles River and the city. The room was very clean and comfortable. The room size was adequate size having a desk with twoo chairs, and a large closet for hanging clothes. My only complaint would have to be the walls were paper thin. Anything and everything could be heard from the rooms next door, across the hall and in the hallway. Other than that, a great hotel and would reccomend it.

Dining: Short Walk, Right across the street is a mall that...

The minute we entered the courtyard,we were greeted by a friendly staff member. This friendliness and willingness to assist made us feel at home throughout our stay. We upgraded our room to the Charles River side with the help of a super registration clerk. Accomodations were quiet, tastefully decorated and the bedding magnificent. We especially liked breakfast in the inside/outside gallery. Other restaurants and a shopping mall are in walking distance. The hotel provides a shuttle service into Boston's Historical area. Walking, jogging and biking are on the hotel's Charles River side with the skyline... read full review »

My room at the Royal Sonesta had a beautiful nighttime view up the Charles River and across to Boston. The room was very comfortable with a nice sized desk for the kids to sit and eat snacks. I ordered room service for breakfast and it showed up very quickly by an overly friendly server. The hotel is located directly across the street from a mall which has a food court and is also handy for any forgotten items. The indoor pool was great for my daughter and was very clean. The only drawback is the walk to catch the train or trolly. It was rather long for me, since I live in a small city and... read full review »

The Royal Sonesta Cambride was comfortable. The room was for just right for the weekend but would not recommend it for a longer stay because it was small. I liked that the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The mini bar was also a nice touch. Itr was located close t the airport and across the street from a mall and a Cheesecake Factory. The hotel also provided a shuttle to different attractions that visitors might be interested in. They also had a resturant but I wasn't able to check it out. Would recommend to a friend especially the view.

Shopping: Short Walk, Aside from the Cheesecake...

Having TV is critical when you're couped up in a hotel room for 4 days. Although I got upgraded to an executive suite with two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room), the bedroom TV didn't work and the living room TV had poor reception. The front desk said they would send an engineer to fix it but never followed through. Although I watch several movies, they were not in the best reception. Yet, I was still charged for them even though I told the front desk of the situation. Another irk: They charge daily for WiFi internet access. Most hotels, many airports and now several cities... read full review »

This hotel is perfectly located for the alternate tour of Boston--walk to the Museum of Science or to a Concert at the Fleet Center, take the green line 2 stops to Quincy Market. After a great Saturday night dinner across the street and some shopping, we headed to Harvard Sq (better to take the red line a few stops than to drive) Sunday for brunch and some leisurely shopping at the Coop. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and we had a partial view of the river. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked nice. My only suggestion would be DVD players in the room. Overall, I would recommend... read full review »

The hotel was lovely, the room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and most accomodating. The location was great. On the right was MIT. On the left was the Museum of Science where you could get the "Duck Tour", Across the street was a large mall with everything from Starbucks to Felines to the Cheesecake Factory. Papa Razzi was an excellent restaurant across the street. I love to walk, so I thoroughly enjoyed the walk into Boston each day (approximately 20 minutes...walk along the Charles and then over the Longfellow Bridge.) If you don't want to walk, the hotel has scheduled shuttle... read full review »

Great location, on the Charels River, with a beautiful view of Boston and a great opportunity for walking or running as there is a path right outside the hotel. The room was small and cosy but clean and quite luxurious - lots of pillows and comfortable bed. Good shopping (The Cambridge Galleria Mall) and resturants near by. Super value and well worth the challenge of driving in Cambridge to get there. This would work for business travels or for familes - the Science Museum is very close.

Shopping: Short Walk, Stroll or run along the Charles River - there is a walking path that goes along and...

The Royal Sonesta was very comfortable. I liked it's close proximity to the T-train line. I did not make use of the pool or gym. I did have one problem when I asked the guest services rep. for some travel information and she assured me she'd get back to me,but didn't. My partner and I enjoyed our stay there very much and it has a great view of the Charles river. Also there's a nice mall directly over the road from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and the I thought the lobby was quiet comfortable.

Shopping: Short Walk, There's a great mall over the road with lots of shops and a...
