On the Vision of the Seas for a 12 day cruise that included Greece, Israel for 2 days, Egypt for 2 days and Turkey.
Ship was always clean and cabin stewards are the best I have experienced.
Food was well above what I had expected. RCCL always has excellent service, but the dinner menus were exceptional. Every night had a fruit based cold "soup" that tickled my palate and the rest of the meals were well above the fare for RCCL. They may have found that the food determines a lot of the mind set of passengers.
Our tour guide in Egypt was one of the nest we have ever had. An educated (masters in Egyptology) man that had a great fun-loving personality and played "psycho-dramas" to illustrate the mythology and other facets of the tour using the passengers as the actors. Highly educational and fun. Enjoyed the learning and the man. Food on the excursion was poor and my wife got ill from the last meal served at La Meridian Hotel.
Guides, irritatingly, seemed to always take the front seats instead of the jumper seats provided, thus denying passengers these prime seats. I voiced our objection. No action ever taken. It seems to be an RCCL issue as other cruise lines instruct their guides to NOt use the prime from seats.
All on board was wonderful. Entertainment was fair but gave opportunity to relax.
Recommend the ship and the itinerary (Cypress, Israel, Egypt, Kushadasi and Istanblu) very highly. Boarding was a snap with the online checkin - all we had to show was the barcode we printed and we sped through the process.
