It had been awhile since I had been on a cruise and was anxiously awaiting a fun, relaxing weekend. I went with my mother, sister, and sister-in-law and overall we had a great time (although we are fun people and would have a great time anywhere being together). I was debating between Royal Caribbean and Carnival for a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas and chose R/C based on the fact that Carnival was supposed to be a "total party boat". I envisioned Animal House at Sea so went with R/C.)
We were greeted by a crew member selling cocktails and someone else selling a daily soft drink pass (22.18). I purchased both! The soft drink cup was a mistake but I was told that tea cost money and I thought it would be a good value. There was no charge for iced tea so I ended up spending 22 bucks for something I didn't need.
We chose the late dinner and the first night the comedian was prior to dinner. He was really funny and we all thourougly enjoyed his comedy. The dinner on the other hand was not so great. Everyone thought it was just okay and it turns out that was the best meal of the trip. I didn't eat the second evening's meal and barely touched the third night. The desserts were horrible and I noticed walking though the dining room that everyone in the dining room thought the food was awful as it was mostly being thrown away!!!!
We met 4 couples who had all cruised many many times and all had cruised Carnavel and said their food, service, and cleanliness was all much better. So next time we will take Carnavel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
