My Review of the Radiance of the Seas Alaskan cruise, September 2006

We left Labor Day weekend for Vancouver, BC with another couple for our week long cruise north to Seward, AK.

The pre-cruise hotel

We booked the hotel through RC cruise line about 3 weeks before the cruise.  The hotel was very nice and the price was comprable to anything else we had checked in the area.  The location was just around the corner of the main shopping street in Vancouver.  This was a good choice, since staying there meant we had transportation to the ship when it first opened to passangers.  The check in took less...

TAKING A CRUISE IS THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY OF TRAVELING AND SEEING NEW PLACES WITHOU HAVING A FAMILY AND NOT MUCH MONEY TO VACATION.  A CRUISE IS PRETTY MUCH ALL INCLUSIVE WITHOUT HAVING A LOOP HOLE.  DIFFERENT VATION IN WHICH YOU TRAVEL YOY BEGIN WITH TRANSPORTATION, HOTEL, FOOD, AND ACTIVITIES.  A LOT OF THESE THINGS YOU DO NOT REALIZE THE COST WHEN YOU ARE BUYING FOR TWO, THREE AND EVEN FIVE.  THIS MAKES YOU THINK OF COST AND HOW YOU WILL PAY FOR EVERYONE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT.  CRUISES PROVIDE YOU WITH TRAVEL TO VARIOUS PLACES, FOOD, FOOD, AND MORE FOOD,A ROOM ENTERTAINMENT OF ALL...

Depending on your taste for travel cruising can be one of the best vacation experiences. From the point of check-in to check-out we were catered to like dignitaries. Once on the cruise you want to check every nook and cranny of the ship. But not so fast; first everyone is "all hands on deck" to run through the evacuation drill. It only takes about 20 minutes and is hardly an inconvenience. The ship is teeming with helping hands and has something for every person in the family. Amenities from Ice Skating rinks, shows, shopping to on deck activities around the pool. And the food! Lets just say if...

This is my only time to go on a ROYAL CARIBBEAN cruise and I loved it. We had a suite, with a balcony, to see all of the beautiful sites in Alaska. This ship was nothing short of luxurious. The food was wonderful, the elevators were glass so you good look outside when going up or down and the service was A+. We had an 8 year old son with us who totally enjoyed, and looked forward to every day, the events they had for the children. They were kept busy all day long. One of the events was a treasure hunt where they had to explore the entire ship. He actually say more of the ship than we did!... read full review »

This was my first cruise and my first time out of the states.  What a wonderful experience!  The ship was beautiful, the staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was plentiful and excellent.  If something wasn't to our liking, the staff took care of it immediately.  We enjoyed the ports we stopped at.  I would recommend booking an excursion through the ship at any port you have to take tenders into the port. It will help guarantee that'll you'll get off the ship sooner than the guests who don't book excursions.  We are already planning our next cruise w/Royal Carribean and recommend... read full review »

It was my second cruise - first one was from a competitor which I would not recommend. It was my husband's first cruise. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend it highly. There is activities every single day to attend if you are interested and well worth the time to see or do. If you like to just sit back, relax, and watch that is fine also. We had a balcony cabin and would highly recommend that also. It is a little more money but well worth the difference. We did alot of whale watching and just sitting on the balcony and relaxing while asea. The Crew is great also. They are there for... read full review »

The cruise was the greatest thing I have ever done for myself, we went to St.Thomas,Hati, which I thought was great , we stayed there all day went swimming in a large lagoon, shopping, lots of poor people living there, trying to sell something all the time. Two other places which I can't remember, I went on the cruise almost ten yrs. ago. The boat was beautiful, everything you can imagine to do. The food was great. If I had the chance I would do it again.

We took our Alaskan cruise in August when it was 100+ degrees at home. We LOVED sitting in the hot tub, drinking a hot chocolate and watching the snow fall around us on deck! Royal Caribbean is a great cruise line in terms of plenty to do on board as well: Besides the great food, there were movies, live shows, gambling (at sea), lectures, crafts, dance classes, exercise equipment, a spa... This is a cruise where a cabin with a window is WORTH the money!

Took a cruise on this very ship.  It was my first cruise and was the most wonderful experience.  Everyone on the staff was very attentive and friendly.

was a trip with a lot of senior citizen, abd thought it would have been more entertaining if there were more my age.  Please check on something like this next time.

I was on a 14 day Ensenada Mexico to 4 Island Hawaii cruise.  The cruise line left us sitting in the San Diego convention center for 8 hours after pre-boarding processing awaiting a 2 hour bus ride to Ensenada to get on the ship.  Buses, when finally provided, were from a Mexico bus company, in poor shape, unsafe and driven by drivers that did not speak English or drive safely.

The ship evacuation instructions and drill was not provided to passengers until after 14 hours at sea , mainly due to the delay of the ship leaving port 4 hours later than scheduled (1:00 a.m.).

Eight days into the cruise...
