Royal Caribbean - Navigator of the Seas Review Summary

As ratings go, the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas can’t go much higher. Young cruise lovers were enthusiastic about the many activities it had for people in their 20’s –including a climbing wall and roller blade rink! When you have a moment to sit and eat, reviewers noted that the food on board the Navigator of the Seas is abundant saying “(the) food goes on for miles 24 hours a day.” I’m sold! Words of caution, the drinks add up quickly and you should be familiar with tipping policies before you go. Undecided? we’ve got plenty more Royal Caribbean Cruise Line reviews.

My Review of the Navigator of the Seas Western Caribbean cruise, February 2004

Getting to the Ship
We arrived at MIA having not pre-booked transportation to the cruise terminal.  This wasn't a problem, because we easily located the RC people and paid them directly, and got on the bus.  Looking back now after 3 other cruises, we really should just always pre-book cruise transportation from the terminal.

The Ship:
Navigator is a rather large ship.  We considered it Las Vegas at Sea.  It's flashy and bright colors, lots to see, hear, explore and eat.  We were in our late 20s during this cruise,...

My cruise experience was mixed because I was sick on the cruise. :o(  But the medical clinic was well equipped and the doctor and nurses were fabulous.  Since the antibiotic I was given meant I had to stay out of the sun I spent a lot of time in the lounge, library, computer room, theatre, restaurant, on board shops, etc. and curtailed my off-shore trips.  There was a lot to do and we relaxed and explored most of the on-board options.  My only negative comment would be how limited the hours of operation were for the ice skating rink. It was never open when we wanted to go! Overall we had...

I have taken several cruises in my lifetime, it is the only way to go.  I don't think I'll ever take just a normal by land vacation again.

I have traveled to Hawaii, the Caribbean islands, Jamaica, Cancun and a few more that I can not think of right now.

It is so exciting to see the other parts of our beautiful world. The best part of any cruise vacation is the fact that you get the royal treatment any place that you go. Royal treatment all the down from the Captain to the stewards.  People on the islands are very warm and seem happy that you have come to visit them.  The parties and entertainment...

this was my second cruise in 3 years with Royal Caribbean and both myself and my children (20 + 21) thought this was truly amazing.  The food, room staff, room, decor, everything was just amazing.  The ability to eat for a very reasonable price ($25/pp) in an elegant Italian Restaurant was amazing.  We feel any other ship will just seem like a tug boat in comparison and don't know where we go from here to cruise.  -- the best experience

Our family has been on 13 cruises.  Royal Caribbean offers the most activities for my kids, however, the food is just fair.  The dining room service is excellent, but the chef can't adequatekly cook for 3,500 people at one time!

The ship was fantastic - it was a floating resort. We had such a great time and didn't realize at times that we were floating in the ocean! The ports were lots of fun and it was nice to come back and relax at a bar or restaurant - or head down to the casino for some games. The ship was fun and the staff was very attentive and added to the entire experience. This was my first cruise and since then, I've taken 3 other cruises with Royal Caribbean - all great experiences and we're in the process of planning one more!

This ship is my favorite!  I've been on several other cruise ships and Navigator out ranks all the others...everyone is extremely nice and very helpful...lots of entertainment constantly going on thru out the ship...there is always something to do...rock climbing wall, miniature golf, basketball, ice skating...you will never be bored...balcony cabins are very spacious...

This was my 1st time on a cruise ship. And it was more then I expected. I had the time of my life. I would recomend this cruise line to anyone. Lots to do. Never a dull moment. Excellent service the entire time you are on the ship. Food is excellent. Drinks are not that expensive as I thought they would be. The ports are fabolous.

The services was wonderful the food was great and my family and I had a ball..  Many activities yet you made your own choice to participate or not.  The ship was beautiful and the rooms were comfortable.  Even the small rooms had enough space for 2 people ..  I would travel on that ship again anytime.

My husband and I love the RCL cruise line and the Navigator of the Seas ship was great. There was always plenty to do and so little time to fit everything in. We tried it all: rock climbing, mini golf, ice skating, and just lounging by the pool. We can't wait for out next RCL cruise. It's going to be a blast!

This cruise was very nice. My room was a little smaller than rooms that I've had on other ships, but the atmospher was much better.  I would love to go on another one.

What I like about Royal Caribbean is their itineraries.  I like to pack as much in to my vacation for my buck.  Royal consistently visits one more port of call on the same length cruises than the other lines.  Thats one more place to visit that I don't get to if I choose another line.  Plus Royal has tons to do.  Especially Voyager and Freedom Class ships.  I love the ice skating rink - the ice show is absolutely fabulous.  Also Royal is very competitively price.  So why would I pay the same for less.  The food is good and the staff is nice.  I'm not sure I would cruise with anyone else.... review »

My husband and I have been on Navigator of the Seas twice. Both times were able to find great deals. Our rooms were great. Our cabin stewards, waiters, and all the RC staff were wonderful! We have never had any problems with RC and love traveling with them. We have been on one other cruise line. That didn't hold a cancle to RC's service, food, and staff.

We are definitely fans of RC and look to book on them whenever the deals are great. Navigator of the Seas is really easy to "navigate." This ship is laid out great.

We have always had a great time on Navigator.

Considering this trip began as a family celebration, there was a strong negative bias from the start.

The staff made the trip enjoyable and comfortable from the word "go".  The food was much better than I would expect from a kitchen cooking for an entire ship.

Some of the activities were a bit cheesy, but in all I would go back in a heartbeat.
