My cruise experience was mixed because I was sick on the cruise. :o(  But the medical clinic was well equipped and the doctor and nurses were fabulous.  Since the antibiotic I was given meant I had to stay out of the sun I spent a lot of time in the lounge, library, computer room, theatre, restaurant, on board shops, etc. and curtailed my off-shore trips.  There was a lot to do and we relaxed and explored most of the on-board options.  My only negative comment would be how limited the hours of operation were for the ice skating rink. It was never open when we wanted to go! Overall we had a really nice time despite my bad luck in getting sick.

The staff were wonderful; helpful and friendly.  The food was really good.  We were more comfortable with the casual dining options because I didn't want to stay up late but the one evening we went to the formal dining room was lovely.

We had purchased travel insurance so all my on-board medical expenses were covered.  My employer provided health insurance doesn't provide coverage once we left the US so I was really pleased to know I was still covered and filing the claim when we got back was simple and we received our claim check promptly.   I'll definitely purchase travel insurance again.

The worst part of the cruise was the customs process to get on board.  It was one of the first weeks for the more restrictive regulations (Jan 07) and we had to stand in a long hot line for over 3 hours - and I was getting sicker by the minute. Going through customs again when we got back was also slow but we were on-board not on a cement sidewalk and I checked my carry on luggage so I was more comfortable. I'm not sure we could have done anything differently except pack our carry-on luggage lighter.

We plan to cruise again in 2008.
