Royal Caribbean - Mariner of the Seas Review Summary

Thinking of booking a trip on the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas? Our reviewers loved it. Budget conscious travelers loved the excellent value. If you love good service, one reviewer says that the Mariner of the Seas staff “made (her) feel like the most important person in the world.” Be sure to look out for Dennis the “comical and definitely outgoing” cruise director. One con, travel during spring break at your own risk.

We took our first Royal Caribbean cruise on the Mariner of the Seas and will not use any other cruise line from now on! The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and there were so many activities that we didn't have enough time to get everything done. We had a room with a balcony, which I highly...

Mult problems.  Royal Caribbean decided to take our money and sail inspite of a Hurricaine.  It prevented any outdoor festivities and  almost caused injury outside with winds and no staff to warn passengers.  Royal Caribbean Cancelled Bahamas then the captain turned boat around 6 plus hour into... read full review »

The food was  great soo much food you get tired of eating. The ship was beautiful so much to do on board. The ports were great loved my excursion in St Thomas. The water was so clear and beautiful. Best value for the money in travel.

I booked a Western Caribbean cruise directly with RC on March 1 for March 23, 2008 cruise for myself and 16 year old son. We had a guarantee stateroom (RC chose) in 1639 and it was quiet and dark, good for sleeping. We have no complaints about the room but may choose a balcony next time. I highly recommend passports and a credit card account to go through registration at port. There were more than 3600 passengers with 1/3 of those under 18 on spring break. The little kids seemed so happy to be in the kids program and the teenagers were having fun and were well behaved. Lots of folks from the midwest...

My family and friends have been on three cruises together with the first being Carnival- I was impressed enough to book the second as soon as I returned however my husband and i decided we wanted something a little more upscale so we researched different lines and chose Royal Caribbean on the Mariner of the Seas- It was so much nore than we had expected! The ship is one of the larger ships but has the small shipservice with every attention to detail- we had the best time. Everything was perfect from the food to our rooms to the extreme cleanliness of the ship! There was so much to do for everyone...

After a week aboard the mariner of the Seas, let me tell you, I was impressed from the moment I walked on board.

Everything from friendly greetings by all the staff, to the accomodations made for special requests, Royal Caribbean has gone out of their way to make me feel like I was the most important person on board.  Service was excellent, we had a wonderful waiter and assistant waiter who were both attentive to all our needs and extrememly friendly.  Our room steward was always there when needed but never hovering.  Dennis, the cruise director was comical and definitely outgoing.  He made...

This was our first cruise ever and our daughter and son-in-law took us on the Mariner of the Seas for our 35th aniversary. I was hooked from the minute I stepped onto the ship.  We had a wonderful time. The staff was wonderful and the food was good although they could really improve on the buffet, as it seemed to have the same thing day after day. Our steward was great and the little towel animals were wonderful. We could not wait to get back to our rooms each night after dinner to check and see what was waiting for us, stingray or monkey & etc. Have a memory for life from this cruise.

This was my first cruise, but I am definitely hooked. It was an excellent value for our money.  The check in at the port was quick and smooth and we started our vacation as soon as we boarded. The rooms and the ship was very clean and very nice. There was lots to do aboard ship on the days that we were at sea all day. The crew is very fun and energetic and the shows and ship activities were great.

I went on a western caribbean cruise on the Mariner and loved every moment of it!!  The ship is beautiful!  The food was great and so was the entertainment.  You can not do wrong when booking a Royal Caribbean Cruise.  I would have to say it beats Carnival and NCL.

This is a wonderful ship and perfect for a family cruise. They have it down from check in to check out. They will go above and beyond to accomidate, especially children and large groups.

We took plenty of our own alcohol aboard, especially since we were told at the pier if you can seel the cooler so it does not open we will deliver it with the luggage, so we taped it shut and they did.

We took this cruise with a mixed group totaling 24. The went out of the way to make sure we were setted togather, our cabins were togather.

All in all just a wonderful experience (my second time aboard this ship)....

My boyfriend took me on my first cruise last month. We went on Royal Caribbean's "Mariner of the Sea." I had never been on a cruise before so this extra special. The staff treated us like family. Our waiter for 2nd seating dining was "Madman!" A truly terrific guy and it was always a pleasure to see him. Everything about the ship amazed me. There is so much to do that I didn't see the entire ship. We plan to go on a Honeymoon cruise in a few months. I loved looking out at the sea from our balcony. There aren't really any words to describe what a wonderful time we had. Take a break...go on a cruise...you... read full review »

I went with my husband and three kids on our first cruise, August 24-31, 2008. It was supposed to be a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean... Labadee, Haiti; Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel, Mexico. Due to Hurricane Gustav, our itinerary was changed, so we visited St Thomas and St Martin, Eastern Caribbean instead. I was a little disappointed, but I know that that Captain Johnny wanted to keep us all safe...But there were so many things to do on the ship: sports and swimming, shows and movies at the Savoy Theatre, Adventure Ocean for the kids, a snack at the Promenade Cafe... read full review »

We've been on four other RCI ships but this was by far the best. We were a bit leary of the size but in reality it didn't seem any more crowded than the smaller ships we had been on. The captain was the most personable one that we have encountered and the cruise director didn't have the massive ego problem that most of them have. Our cabin was quiet and comfortable and the amenities on the ship were remarkable. A tip if you get a balcony cabin...go to the bakery on the promenade and pick up some sandwiches, take them back to your room and picnic on the deck. We purchased some sodas and chips in... read full review »
