Royal Caribbean - Majesty of the Seas Review Summary

Value conscious customers will like the Majesty of the Seas, if not for it’s service. A nice price and abundant and good food were plusses. One reviewer says “for the money you really get a lot.” “Rude” and “cold” staff were the major complaint on this cruise. Friendliness must cost extra.

I have travelled with Royal Carribean twice.  It has been a really positve experience.  The accomodations are first class whether you pay for a suite or have an inside cabin.  The food is excellent and abundant.  The staff is very friendly and make the trip a better experience.  I would highly recommend... review »

My husband's family all went on a cruise with Royal Carribean in January 2005.  I was a little unsure about going on a cruise in January, but then again the weather is supposed to be nicer in the Bahamas in the winter.  We all enjoyed the dinners each night very much but all of the other food served...

The Majesty of the Sea is appropriately named because it is truly a "majesty".   The service was impeccable and everyone was polite, friendly, helpful to a fault, and happy to be of service.  We booked a "budget" deal and never receive "budget" anything.  We were treated like royalty the entire time.

The food was to die for, especially one of the Chef's Signature dishes - Herb-Stuffed Atlantic Cod.  Be sure to try anything you wouldn't normally eat....what a palete experience that you'll not forget soon.  I always asked our head waiter, Marcho, what he recommended, and he was always correct. ...

We woke up early from the anticipation of our cruise and went to the Olas Spa health club to head off a few of the anticipated pounds. The club contained modern aerobic equipment along with an array of specialized machines and free weights. After exercising, we went to the Olas Health Bar Cafe for breakfast. We were the only ones in the seating area which overlooked the ocean and gardens of the hotel. All the menu selections were healthy and reasonably priced. My favorite was the banana and rum flavored pancakes.

We were happy to learn the hotel had a 10:00 AM Roman Catholic mass on site saving...

My Husband and I took our son, his wife, and 4 children in September 2007

We had a great time, great food, attentive staff (night dining & room steward) and we can't think of one thing we had a problem with.

Oh there was ONE thing...... 5 days was too short !!!!!

I've been on many cruises, but this one was the least enjoyable by far. The service I'm used to on a cruise was just not there. In fact, many members of the staff were outright rude. I brought friends along who were first time cruisers and I was very disappointed that they did't get to enjoy the experience of being truly pampered on a cruise. Dining staff were exceptional as usual, but our room attendant, bartenders, windjammer staff, and others were quite cold.

My best friend decided to get married on the Majesty of the Seas by RCCL.  I would never every recommend this ship to anyone unless they are:

1. 21 or younger
2. Looking for a fast hook-up
3. Needing a really cheap vacation

The ship was clean... but could be a lot cleaner.  The rooms are small and smelly as there isnt much air flow throughout the long and tiny coridoors.  The food, is about eual or worse than Olive Garden.  The average age on this ship is about 25. A lot of the females traveling were dressed like they worked the streets and the guys thought they were back in 1980s.  This is...

I am a lover of cruises. This was my first weekend cruise, usually I do 7-9 day cruises. It was great. My friends can't wait to do it again in Nov. 2008. The service was excellant, the food was wonderful, the stops were great. We loved the day in CocoCay. The only disappointment was the boat used for parasailing broke down right before we were scheduled to go up. It didn't have much of an impact on the day or the trip however. We still had a ball. I have been on several Royal Caribbean cruises and always find them to be among the best.

Booked a 25th anniversary cruise. From the time we left port to the time we arrived back to original point, the entire trip was fantastic. The care and the attention to detail was impeccable. This by far is the best cruise line that I've traveled with and will travel with them again.

Great JOB!

Royal Caribbean, majesty of seas - to the bahamas destination is an unforgetable experience. As the name says, the cruise is really royal. It's a wonderful place to any person to have a enchanting trip. The service, environment, food and everything is awesome. The people in the cruise are down to earth and are always ready to serve you. The interiors, the feel ---- everything is so good

We were disappointed that the Windjammer ( buffet restaurant ) was closed at times, so the only way to get something to eat sometimes was to pay extra for it. Free ice cream was available in only one spot on the entire ship for only 6 hours/day.  Also, the quality of the food was not as well as we expected it would be.  Actually, IMO, Carnival had better quality food than Royal. They don't have open seating in the main dining rooms for dinner, so after listening to endless chatter at our table on the first night ( from one of our tablemates ), we ate at the buffet for the rest of the trip.

Royal Carribean's Majesty of the Seas is a great and beautiful ship.  It is filled with exciting and fun things to do.  My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night company trip.  We were under the impression that Royal Caribbean cruises were for an older more serious crowd.  I can honestly say that that is completely incorrect.  My husband and I are a young couple (ages 23 and 29) and we had a blast.  The club was bumping all night.  The music was perfect.  There was also a party one night on the top deck that was great.  The bars and lounges were not only beautiful but also served wonderful...

Being a precruiser (9 times) I was disapointed in the attitude of the crew.  Not that everyone was unfriendly but on a cruise it is almost a surprise when someone is not.  Waiters only stood and clapped and mumbled a song and called it a show!  Dancers at the theater seemed to preform the same dances only in different costmes and not may of those.  Songs were second string as they saved money on the royalties ???  RC needs to bring this ship up a couple of notches. Food was not as good as expected either. tYou cannot beat that CoCoKay Island adventure though.  That day made the rest worth... review »

As soon as I stepped on the ship, I felt as though I was dreaming. From the look of the line of almost 300 people, I thought I would wait forever to get on the boat. I was wrong. The wait was short and when I arrived to my room my bags were waiting in front of my door.

Every single individual who worked on the ship was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful.

I am very excited to go on my next cruiser. I am a cruiser for life!

I went with a few friends on a weekend cruise to the Bahamas.  Now, I should start out by saying that I love to travel, and cruises in general are fun and relaxing, so the chances of it being an unpleasant experience overall were very low.  That said, I wouldn't say that Royal Carribbean was my favorite cruiseline.  The trip was inexpensive, and the food was good, but I didn't like committing to eating at the same time every evening.
