My husband's family all went on a cruise with Royal Carribean in January 2005.  I was a little unsure about going on a cruise in January, but then again the weather is supposed to be nicer in the Bahamas in the winter.  We all enjoyed the dinners each night very much but all of the other food served during our cruise was awful.  All of the food at lunch and especially the midnight buffet was lacking and even looked "fake"  There was no taste to a lot of the food...look like it was baked for decoration only.  You always think on cruises is supposed to be wonderful, but we were very disappointed in the food, other than dinner.

The cruise ship itself was OK, just very old and needed a lot of updating and cleaning it seemed.  The ports of call were not very entertaining in the middle of the winter.  The weather was nice, about 70 and windy, which is not suitable for sunbathing or swimming, which is a little disappointing when you go on a cruise to the Carribean!

All in all i would not go on another cruise again because of this experience.  Too many people on a boat that was a little too small with food that was not up to par.

I was just on this cruise and loved it. The food and crew were wonderful. I can't believe the
value for the money. The dinner service and food was so enjoyable! Our waiter's were awesome, they took wonderful care of us, especially Jose! We loved him, he helped us with all of our questions and let us know what was going on and where. I can't wait to go again.

Don't let this one experience turn you off from cruising. You should try another ship such as Princess ships or Celebrity ships. Cruising is the least expensive and the most enjoyable because you only have to unpack once and get to see a lot of ports. Then if you like one port in particular you can take a separate trip just to that location. Since your cabin (room) and food is all inclusive and you should be able to find a good cruise for $100 or less a day for an inside cabin.
