Royal Caribbean - Freedom of the Seas Review Summary

Viewpoints members say “Wow” about the Royal Carribean’s Freedom of the Seas. People who love good service were highly impressed by the staff. Others were “awed by the size of the ship”, one of the biggest in the world. Bland food and a lack of evening family entertainment were disappointing to some reviewers, but the most common complaint? “None”. Don’t forget to pack sun tan lotion. — Flew out of CLE at 6:30AM but we didn't take off til 7AM, then the joke of ATL til 11AM so we landed in MIA at Noon. Got a taxi with a great female driver who took side streets to the dock. She stated she has carried hundreds already & we see a line of 3000 folks from the front door all the way back to Carnival's terminal. As we are getting out of the taxi & our luggage out of the rear a great porter states "Hi Diamond Members" and takes our luggage and points to a long dark navy blue walkway with big doors under it & we are to go in those doors. Inside a security officer sees our… read full review »

The hubby and I pulled the kids out of school to attend the Deaf Freedom Cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas.  What a cruise it was!  Royal Caribbean is to be commended for their commitment to communication access.  They hired 124 interpreters and provided real-time captioning for the evening events.  For several weeks before the cruise, their staff took sign language classes and viewed sign videos. — Freedom of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean line of 22 ships.  Two more ships are being built.  The Freedom has a… read full review »

Ship: WOW!! I am not sure where to even begin because there is so much to see and do on FOS that a 7 night cruise with 4 port days is not enough time. The H2O Zone is the best idea because it kept the small kids out of the adult pools but was a fun place for the parents to hang with their kids. The flowrider was a favorite among my kids but I was not daring enough to try it. The hot tubs in the solarium are a must see. Water was a bit hot but I got used to it real quick. — Food: We ate breakfast each morning in the Windjammer and thought the food was OK. Nothing… read full review »

This was my first cruise since adulthood. My brother and I went on a cruise when we were preteens, but that was a long time ago.  My youngest son took me on this cruise as a combination Mother's Day gift and Birthday gift.  — The ship was promoted as being the newest and largest of the Royal Caribbean line.  The moment one stood on the dock to prepare to board you couldn't help but be awed by the size of the ship and the efficiency of the staff checking you in.  — There was so much to do on board that one could have just stayed on board for… read full review »

We took this, our first cruise, with another couple who has been on 3 or 4 other cruises on other cruise lines.  — There was so much more to do than just go shopping, but if that was what you wanted, there were great shops on the ship as well as in our ports of call. — Dining was a wonderful experience.  The food was excellent with some exotic dishes to try, but always basic steak and fish for those who were not too adventurous.  One day we went to Johnny Rockets to get a burger and fries, and found the milk shakes a great treat. — The cruise director,… read full review »

— — My Family and I went on a cruise with Royal Carribean in the Spring to celebrate her graduattion. We had been on two other cruises together . The first Royal Carribea and the second Carnival ( which was not fun). — — Our cruise left from Ft. Luderdale and went to Key West and then on to Belize. If you have more than a few hourse in Ft. Lauderdale I suggest renting  scooter and explorng the island. Belize was my favorite stop as we took a an excursion to a private island. The view was amazing, the beach was a tropical paradise. — — THe boat… read full review »

This is the best, most entertaining, most equipped cruise ship in the world. This ship has more amenities, things to do, and activities than any other ship in the entire world. If this is your first cruise, or even if you are a frequet cruiser, I challenge you to find a cruise ship that has the flo-rider, rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, shopping mall promenade, broadway shows, azipod propellers for smoother ride, and lcd tvs in every room. — Does it get better than this???? —… read full review »

This was my first time going on a cruise.  My husband and I went away with 4 other couples.  We had the best time on Freedom of the Seas!  The food was excellent.  I am very picky about what i eat and how it's presented...and this was terrific.  There were also tons of activities on the boat to keep all of our interests.  I spent a few mornings in the gym.  The view is spectacular overlooking the ocean.  There were several pools and live entertainment with games for all ages.  The only downfall was the surf wave pool.  It was very difficult… read full review »

This line is fantastic. We have set sail on a few of the RC ships. This one is our 2nd favorite with Freedom being our first! The activities they plan for the kids are amazing. No matter the age, there is something for them to do and they are safe and well cared for and they have a a blast. Our kids hated to leave the kids club each night. They have fun organized games, and activities all over the ship. — The rooms are good sized and you feel safe having your balcony doors open. The showers are not as small as some of the other ships we have been on. — The room service is fast,… read full review »

One of the most beautiful ships I've ever seen. It took me the whole cruise to see the whole ship. There is something for everyone at every age on this ship. The kids have a section practically for themselves. There are so may pools on this ship they are never over crowded. The boarding procedures was very quick. Every employee made me feel I was a rock star. I left a comment at the front desk stating they needed recliners for the balconies for people who wanted to do private sunbathing and was amazed that before I returned to my room I received a recliner. The food… read full review »

WOW, I'm not even sure where to start.  This was my 3rd cruise and once again Royal Caribbean did not disappoint!  The ship is beyond what your imagination can even begin to conjure up!  Take your wildest dreams and then multiply them by 5!  I have a 5 year old and he cried the day we left.  The children's program, Adventure Ocean, is the best at Sea!  They kept my son so entertained and busy he never wanted to stop for anything.  The food was great and in plenty.  No one will  ever go hungry on this ship.  There's a pizza place, and 24 hour… read full review »

What a fantastic way to spend a week.  My fiance, at the time, would talk about the family cruise he had previously taken and I would roll my eyes.  I didn't have any interest in taking a cruise.  I am so glad he talked me into it.  He booked a cruise for our honeymoon and it was the best thing we could have done.  We both have very busy lifestyles and this was the perfect way to relax.  From lying by the pool to hitting the on board spa, they had it all.  One of our favorite things to do was sit out on our balcony as we left the various ports or as the sun… read full review »

Gtreat food and service. Small rooms, but there is enough to do that it becomes less of a distraction as time goes by. Port of calls are too short to really get out and explore, but enough to do a little sight seeing, restauraunt or bar hop, or take in one of the many activities the ship offers. If you are a little more adventurous, rent your own car when you get off the ship and and take off and hit some out of the way places and stop at some of the less touristed places. The shows on board were a great time and so were the… read full review »

What can I say, the ship is marine marvel.  Stem to stern a play ground for all.  Food for every palate and taste.  Poolside fun for any age and or sex.  If you want an above average trip were everything is included non-stop 24 hours, except the alcohal and tips.  This is the trip for you.  People with the same love of fun and adventure helping you to enjoy yourself even more . . .   and if you go with Tom Joyner and crew :  What Goes On The Ship/Stayes On Ship… read full review »
