This was my first cruise since adulthood. My brother and I went on a cruise when we were preteens, but that was a long time ago. My youngest son took me on this cruise as a combination Mother's Day gift and Birthday gift.
The ship was promoted as being the newest and largest of the Royal Caribbean line. The moment one stood on the dock to prepare to board you couldn't help but be awed by the size of the ship and the efficiency of the staff checking you in.
There was so much to do on board that one could have just stayed on board for their whole vacation and still not have done everything there was to do on board. However, the bonus of being able to visit new countries, learn a little about their cultures and participate in fun excursions was both fun and overwhelming.
Their staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. There were chocolates and towel animals on your bed each evening. Your dinner companions in the sit down dining halls became your close friends throughout the rest of the cruise and our dining staff also made it possible for some friends from home who were also traveling, to join us.
Last but certainly not least, there were themes for each day/night of the cruise. On this one we had two formal nights, 70's night, Circus Night (complete with a circus on the promenade deck) and 80's night.
Would I ever go back again..You Betcha! I'm hooked on Royal Caribbean.
