Dont' take a cruise unless it is with Royal Carribbean!

Amazing Ship, Excellent Cruise Director, very entertai, Great off shore excursions, Friendly Staff, Family friendly, Fun organized activities, organized-simplified, you must sail with them at least once.

Cons

Some of the food is a bit bland

My husband and I took a Royal Carribbean cruise to the Eastern Carribbean last year and already have another cruise booked for this year. We were surprised at how elegant the Freedom of the Seas was and had no complaints about our cabin. We have taken a cruise with another line and we could not believe the size of our cabin. We also enjoyed that it was very luxurious and decorated with care. The cabin stewards were amazing! They were very helpful and made sure that your every need was taken care of. The service in the dining rooms was outstanding and we felt pampered. Most of the food was fabulous and there was a lot of variety. The pool area was spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the adult only pool area but went over to the general pool when they were conducting activities. All of the activities were humourous and fun. The cruise director was extremley entertaining and very funny. We also enjoyed all of the shows and parties. It was nice to have a casino on board as it reminded us of the trips we have taken to Las Vegas. After cruising with Royal Carribbean we will not take a cruise with any other line. The only complaint we had was that we did not get our luggage on the first night until 10pm. we will be prepared next time by packing our bathing suits in our carry-on!

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Starting with dirty walls in the dining room, as if s.o. was cleaning with dirty water. The carpet was dirty and a new ship came across as slightly worn out. The deck had big imperfections on the surface. The entertainment was great except the cruise director, who was doing a self-promotion and had a sense of humor appealing to first graders rather than a mature audience. Otherwise, the shows were of superb quality. Our main problem was the bathroom. We were in a party of four and two of us had an outside cabin with a defect toilet. The system was clocked and the management did not rectify this problem during the entire duration of the cruise 7 days. We had to run around the ship and find a public bathroom that happened to be temporary in service. After explaining the situation to the company, RC has shown a very uncooperative side. Phone calls were not returned for weeks and no compensation was offered. lukasfaber@yahoo.de
