I adopted two kittens from a rescue organization, and they recommended Royal Canin diet. It may just have been these two kittens that had problems with the diet, but until we switched them over to Purina One, they had diarrhea almost constantly.  Also, they had gas terribly (I didn't know cats could do that!). The Royal Canin simply didn't work for our two little ones.  However, I have to say that through it all, they continued to grow, thrive, and had a lot of energy.  We don't know how young these two were when they were taken away from their mother, so their intestinal systems may not have been fully developed.  But when we switched away from the Royal Canin Baby Kitten food, the problem was solved.

I have fostered and hand raised many kittens and I can assure you the Baby Cat formula will have kittens eating solid food faster than any other product out there. The peices of food are tiny so they are easy for a kitten to pick up and chew. Plus they love the taste and the nutritional value is outstanding. We have always highly recommended this product to kitten owners.

When I first started volunteering for a cat rescue organization, I asked the coordinator what kind of food was best for the kittens.  She immediately told me to get Royal Canin Babycat.  Since she had over 20 years' experience rescuing literally hundreds of cats, I took her word for it.  Simply put, it is one of the best foods out there for kittens.  They love it, and it keeps them healthy.  I'm not wealthy and it does cost a little more, but it is worth it -- vet bills for unhealthy animals are much more expensive!

Last year, we got two rescue kittens, and decided we would start them off on good, healthy food. (We switched our older cat from supermarket cat food to the healthy stuff the year before, and the difference in her overall health and energy level was amazing. Our vet can't believe she's almost 17 years old!) One of our friends suggested trying Royal Canin Babycat for the new kittens. We brought home a bag of it the day we brought them home, and it was amazing how fast they grew and what kind of energy they had. All the ingredients in Babycat are natural--in fact, as far as I can tell, there is nothing in there that I wouldn't eat myself (although I'm not planning to pour milk on it and have it for breakfast any time soon--the cats would be annoyed, for one thing). And the vitamins and minerals are just what growing kittens need. We lost one of the kittens to FIP about six months ago, but until about a month before she died, she was fairly healthy and quite happy. The vet told us that the good nutrition she was getting at home probably prolonged her life for several months. The other kitten is still with us, big and healthy as a horse, and still eating Royal Canin every day.

I adopted my baby kitty from a rescue organization at two months of age.  The lady with the rescue organization recommended the Royal Canin Babycat Dry Food because of the tiny little pieces.  She also said that it is very high in fat, which kittens need at such a young age.  She loves this cat food and has been growing into a really healthy cat.  My kitten did have a bit of gas when transitioning from liquid/soft food to the dry food, but that was part of the weaning process and to be expected I think.  Her coat is very shiny, her poops are mild and solid, and she doesn't have any kitty gas. She is super energetic and seems very healthy. The best part is that her breath is not stinky at all! She's almost four months now and we're ready to move to the kitten 36 formula. The only issue with this food is that it is quite pricey. You can buy it in up to fifteen pound bags, though, and it is cheaper per unit than buying the smaller bags.

I have adopted / rescued 2 baby kittens that were only 2 1/2 weeks old. They were flea ridden and full of tape worms. I had to bottle feed them, groom them, and train them to use the potty. After several painstaking weeks of bottlefeeding at all hours of the day and night I started feeding them the Royal Canin Baby Cat 36 food. It was small enough for them to eat and easy on their little bellies.

I volunteer with an animal shelter, specifically with a cat adoption facility.  We love to feed Royal Canin Babycat to our kittens.  It is for kittens under 4 months -- the fat content is too high to feed to older kittens or to adult cats.  There are exceptions -- if you have an older kitten or adult cat who is very thin, or a pregnant or nursing cat, this is excellent for them, too.  For thin older kittens and adults, feed a small amount of Babycat to see it they will eat it.  In fact, this is good advice in general with Babycat.  Just put a small amount in the dish at any one time, and keep the bag sealed tightly otherwise. The price is high and you will probably need to go to a specialty pet store (or website) rather than a grocery store to find this, but it's worth the extra money and the trouble.

Some real loser left a box with two 1-day old kittens (cords still attached) in the back of my convertible about a month ago.  The pathetic part of the story is that the car was parked in my driveway and I was in the house.  They could have just knocked on the door and avoided exposing the babies to the 90 degree weather that we were experiencing. In any case, I discovered them in time and have been bottle-feeding them for the past four weeks.  After three weeks, one of the kittens was clearly failing (gained only 40 grams and was still hairless while her brother gained 240 grams) so she was humanely euthanized.  The Big Boy kitten has been just growing, developing, cutting teeth, and generally impressing me with his progress.  He certainly loves his bottle of kitten formula but I was trying to convert him over to canned kitten food.  He had no interest.... none.  I mixed it with the kitten formula and he refused it. I'm sorry but after 4 weeks of bottle-feeding you three and four times a day, I am sick of it!! Why won't you eat the canned food? Why won't you stop screaming??? And then the kitten grew strong enough to climb out of his plastic bin and find the bowl of dry food that was set out for the cats/kittens several rooms away.  I knew I was in trouble when I found the kitten sitting in the middle of the bowl and trying to chomp away at the giant adult cat food pieces.  He and only just gotten in his baby teeth yet he was going to work on the big cats food. At that point, I put him back in his plastic bin and poured a small bowl of *Royal Canin Babycat* dry food.  It was about the size of "pastina" pasta and extremely small.  This little kitten just dug right in and ate until he was full.  Fortunately for him, this kibble is softer than normal for young kittens and it contains ingredients to boost their immune system.  Our baby didn't require that this food was soaked in warm water.  He jumped right into the tiny dry pieces of kibble and actually eschewed the many dishes of canned food that I had put out for him. The kitten that screamed for his beloved formula immediately became quiet when he noticed the bowl of *Royal Canin Babycat* in his area.  The pieces are small enough for his teeny tiny teeth to handle and this food produces teeny, tiny, and solid stools so we have no complaints.  He has given up the formula and is happy to dive into his bowl of *Royal Canin Babycat Dry Food*.  I haven't even had to soak it in warm water! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this food to anyone who needs something other than formula to feed kittens.  Our little kitten decided that the *Royal Canin BabyCat Dry Food* was absolutely perfect for him at the ripe old age of 4 weeks.
