This **Rowenta DZ5080 Iron with Auto Shut-off **gets hot quickly and saves you time ironing. This particular model has an awesome steam feature that really works, but beware, you chunnel through a lot of water quickly - but it is so worth it because the speed of ironing with the steam is worth the small annoyance of refilling.

The **Rowenta DZ5080 Iron with Auto Shut-off **is a great iron and although it costs more than what I'd normally spend - it is about what you'd think a good iron should cost. And with this particular **Rowenta**, the steam function has yet to drips on me yet. THE DRIP - it is the one thing I DREAD about iroing...the inevitable DRIP!  No drips here!

I am usually the type that would go for the cheap iron, but after trying several junk irons I broke down and finally gave in and paid the price you need to pay to get quality...and the **Rowenta DZ5080 Iron with Auto Shut-off** is definitely worth it in the long run!  I would highly suggest this iron to anyone who is willing to pay for a quality machine!  Again, it has a lot of steam, it is light weight, and I love the tapered tip because it gets around the second reason I hate ironing: shirt buttons.

Performance
This thing heats up quickly and does a fantastic job.

Safety
It's an iron: it gets hot! But it has a nice weight (not too heavy and not light) and it isn't tipping making it safer than most.

Ease of Cleaning
Simple to clean as any other iron out there.

Ease of Use
You can tell this is a quality iron by the feel of it, but surprisingly it is light-weight and super easy to use, it glides over all fabrics fantastically.

Durability
This iron is made well; you definitely get what you pay for and this iron seems like it'll last a long time.

Design
Again, the price for this cheap skate is a little high but I think it was an acceptional buy, especially because the reservoir is a bigger size than most and I love the auto shut-off feature - not to mention that the steam control and anti-drip functions are above what I would expect from any iron...I'm sold!

Rowenta DZ5080 Iron with Auto Shut-off does its job. I like this iron as it does what it is suppose to do - iron. It is great but I realized that there are just a few issues. The other name brand was much lighter, it is very important so that I can use that without much effort. This smooths and removed wrinkles pretty well. The LED that is located in the handle has a series of color flashes that you will miss if you are not watching the iron warm up. So you need to read instructions as to when it is ready for using. The auto shut off function is important. The Steam function is ok as well but make sure you have it dial at the right setting otherwise the water would drip on your shirt and you will have water stains. The water requires refilling a lot, and the iron is hoter than it should so watch out, I already burned a few thin shirts and they are more expensive than the iron itself. Overal it irons with a lot settings for you to choose from.

Over-Rated

By

from Brewster, NY

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

Over-rated & over-priced. I bought into all the hype that this was a must have iron, that I would never mind ironing again. That the results would be better than any other iron. Nope. An iron seems to be an iron. While the design is nice, ergonomic and all it does not make up for the fact that this iron cost twice what it's competitors cost. It does the job. But no differently than any other iron I ever owned. Easy to use, heats up quickly. If it cost what it's competitors cost, I would be happy. I do not know what I was expecting. There are somethings worth paying more for, I guess an iron is not one of them. I only iron once a week so I do not know about heavy use but it seems to be pretty solid.

Does the basics and more

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

This iron performs its main jobs efficiently and pretty quickly. I love the auto-off feature, which has saved me a couple of times when I had to put the iron down to answer the phone quickly or I left the room and forgot about the iron (major oops!). The steam function works especially well, but be warned that this iron requires a rather high amount of water. You'll probably find yourself refilling it more often than you like. But when you use it, you'll see that it is worth the extra work.

I love Rowenta

By

from Glendale, AZ

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

Rowenta irons are built to last. I have had mine for 14 years. I have dropped it and it didn't break. It steams nicely, does a great job easily. I have used cheaper irons and they just don't compare. It's worth spending a little bit more on a good iron. This iron makes the job a pleasure to do. I think this will be the last iron I own. It's just not going to die. It heats up quickly, the steam is steady and doesn't spit a ton like cheap irons do. I don't even need to use starch with this iron. It gets the job done. It has a ton of different settings and options as well. From very delicate fabrics to heavy duty. It has the safety feature to turn off after a prolonged period of non use as well. I know that is an important feature, at least for me!

Love rowenta irons

By

from Salt Lake City, UT

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

I was given this as a gift, so I'm not sure how expensive it was, but I sure like it!  It moves very smoothly over my clothes.  when I use a steam setting it evenly steams, not drippy wet splotches like some irons I have used.  It heats up quickly and i never have to wait long.  It has multiple settings to use.  The cord is reasonably long, but not as long as my old black and decker.  The cord can wrap around it well and is very tidy for storage.  It takes a little while to cool of course, but is a regular sized iron that fits in my iron holder in my cabints.

This iron has been dropped a couple of times, and I was dissapointed (but not surprised) that part of of the plastic broke off the back of it.  It still works fine, so I guess that's good!  Everyone I know that has a rowenta says it will last for years and think it's worth spending some the extra money to get a good iron.  I would buy one again!

Decent iron, but expect more for price

By

from Loveland, OH

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

We have been through two Rowenta irons in 6 years and don't really do that much ironing to warrent them not lasting.  I just remember my mom seemed to have her iron forever!  Our first Rowenta iron started smoking and I thought it was going to catch on fire.  My husband just threw it away.  Then, I ordered another one, and as of right now, all the water seems to drain out of it, or spills out onto the ironing board.  It worked great for awhile, and I really wish it had lasted longer.  I can still use this one as long as I don't fill it up past the metal part on the iron.  It seems to be leaking through the base of the iron.

In the future, when we look for an iron, I will probably read the reviews on here first and look for an iron that will last for more than a few years.  If I ironed all the time, I might understand it not lasting too long, but as it is, spending so much money for an iron that doesn't last doesn't seem like a good thing.

Ironing is not so bad

By

from Yorktown, VA

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

Just recently purchased a Rowentha DZ5080 Iron and I have to say that it is almost enjoyable to iron. The task will never truly be enjoyable, but this may be as close as it gets. Fill the thing with water and it glides across your clothes like butter on hot bread! It's that easy. It is lightweight, easy to fill and on the one occasion that I did forget to unplug it...it turned itself off...not that I recommend leaving it plugged in, but it is a feature that I would not want my iron to be without.

Other irons that I've had in the past would sputter and spit over the fabric or clothing and sometimes even stain the item with little rust like dots. Not a problem with this iron. I would replace this iron with the very same one if I had to. This iron is also very affordable. I use it mostly for my home sewing projects...quilts and the like. Works like a charm. Various fabric settings for everything from silk to wool. Works great on everything.

I love the foolproof shutoff.

By

from Colorado Springs, CO

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

My grandmother loved her Rowenta iron and said that it should be the only iron I ever buy, and after owning this one I have to agree!  I do a lot of sewing so it has seen a lot of use.  It heats up fast and I appreciate the auto shutoff because I'm also scatterbrained.  The price might put you off at first but if you do a lot of ironing and crafting with irons, I would suggest taking the plunge.

If you must iron, you must have a Rowenta!

By

from Jerome, ID

Comments about Rowenta Iron with Auto Shut-off:

I have to admit it....I hate ironing.  BUT, if you must iron, you must have a Rowenta!  I can't believe how much quicker this chore goes with the best iron on the market!  The Rowenta does not feel heavy, but the way it presses almost makes you think you have a heavy old-fashioned iron.  It just does the job and does it really well.  I usually fill mine with water before I start and within only a minute, it's ready to go.  I can iron those "really hard to iron" shirts and pants that I didn't get out of the dryer quickly enough.  I also use the iron to steam my curtains!  It doesn't have to touch the fabric, you can just run the steam close to the fabric and the wrinkles just disappear!  I have recommended this iron to EVERYONE I know that has to do this monotonous chore!  The Rowenta makes my clothes look great and it does it quicker than any other iron on the market!  I am a Rowenta user for life!
