Rowenta Professional and Advancer DZ9080 began as a brilliant design, hefty presser including a pinched tip for buttons and special pleats with ample steam vents to ease the work. Having paid my way through college by steam ironing the ROTC boys shirts and polishing their shoes for inspection, I qualify as a serious user of steam irons with VERY careful attention to not dropping or abusing them over the years and now.
Within a month of purchasing the Rowenta the leaking of this Professional model brought me to exchange the iron for its replacement of the same professional model.
Now, after 6 replacements in 11 months for a variety of ailments (diodes failed-leaking profusely-failure to heat), it is obvious the components used in Rowenta or quality assurance have major flaws that make them seriously unreliable and a candidate for corporate re-thinking of their product.
At $127.00 US there is little excuse for anything to be missing or shoddy related to durability, design or effective use. Unfortunately, I have grown weary of the exchange process and the deeply disappointing outcomes. Though the retailer has been terrific, the flawed product is simply a waste of good funds and an amazingly large amount of time. In my busy life as a business professional, I can no longer justify purchasing anything from Rowenta. I'm going elsewhere for a steam iron that works so that I can get to the bottom of a stack of french-cuffed shirts and get to work.
