Roto Rooter - Roto Rooter - Valdosta, GA Review

We recently moved into an older house out in the country. We got the power turned on startedmoving things in and realized the water wasnt cutting on. I didnt know how to fix what was wrong (no idea what priming was at this point)

So I called roto rooter. They were well respected and trusted where we moved from, so i thought i would recieve the same service in this new town. Boy was i wrong!

The plumbers showed up with a wrench and took a nut off my pump, said it needed priming. Then looked at me and asked if i had any water. I was thinking DUH thats why i called you! because i have no water!  So i said, well I have about a glassful left in the house.

He then told me he didnt think that would be enough, but he would try. I thought that sounded wierd, but i thought no worries, he is a pro. He will fix it.

I brought out the water. He poured it into the hole, then held his palm over the hole. He said it wasnt priming, then put the screw (or nut whatever its called) back onto the hole and told me to go ahead and turn off the pump. That we were gonna need a whole new well.

He said he was sorry that I would have to spend so much and that i would need a little over a thousand dollars minimum. I think i about fainted. Then he went to his truck, i was thinking well he did nothing guess its a free of charge look over. Boy was i wrong. He charged me $65!!! Then handed me a pen with his companies logo on it and said "well at least you get something for your money!" and told me to keep the pen. My jaw fell open.

I told him to bill me. He said they have to collect at time of service. I said or what? you will ask for the 5 minutes of your life back? This was rediculous!

So i then went to the internet. Googled "how to prime a well"  Then i went to the store and grabbed 5 gallons of water. It said i only needed a couple, but i wanted to be prepared. Soo $6 later and boom my pump was pouring water and my well DID NOT need to be replaced! go figure!

You would think a plumber that had to prime a well would know they had to bring...WATER!!

I even called a couple plumbers and asked what supplies they would bring to prime a well. All of them said a wrench and water!

DO NOT TRUST THESE CROOKS!
