Roseanne was one of the first sitcoms I really remember being into as a kid. I remember loving it because it was like my family -- none of the cute, squishy stuff from some of the other sitcoms, it showed families that, at times, fought and argued, but always came back together when it REALLY mattered. It also touched me that the women on the show, instead of being the typical sumbissive housewives and daughters, knew how to stand up for themselves and their beliefs. It really showed what it was like to be a typical famiy with a typical middle class household -- until the latter seasons, anyway.
