Roomba iRobot Discovery Vacuum —
I bought the Roomba Discovery for my mom less than a year ago. I purchased it through Hammecher Schlemmer after reading reviews that if there were any problems, they have a lifetime guarantee on their products, returns are no problem. WRONG!!!! I bought an extra battery when I bought the Roomba so that my mom could have a spare while the one is charging. About 6 or 8 months after purchase, both batteries died. I was so glad I had bought it through Hammecher Schlemmer because they should replace the batteries without any hassle. I called & explained the situation & was told to go ahead & return the batteries for an exchange. I returned TWO batteries. Only received ONE back, with no explanation as to where my other one is. I have since called, now 4 times, trying to find out where my other battery is & so far I've been told it's on it's way, they don't show I returned 2 batteries (luckily I keep copies of all my papework!), I was hung up on, left on hold and now have just left a message for a Supervisor to try to get somewhere! Very frustrating. BEWARE if you buy from Hammecher Schlemmer! They will take back their product for exchange, but will only exchange part of it without any explanation.Not to take away from the product - it works great. My mom loves it. The only problem has been the battery. They apparently don't last very long.
Just watch where you buy it from!
