I'm not a big beer fan. I never really got into the taste and usually when we go out or atend a social occasion, I will choose to drink a mixed drink over a beer. However, sometimes a beer is just the right choice for a quick drink after a long day at work, especially if it is icy cold. This was the reason and how Rolling Rock Green Light came into our refrigerator.

Rolling Rock Green Light beer is bottled in 12 fl. oz. green colored bottles. Each serving contains 83 calories and only 2.4 grams of carbohydrates, .7 grams of protein and 0 grams of fat. That's low enough in calories for anyone counting calories! Rolling Rock Green Light is bottled by Latrobe Brewing Company, St. Louis, Mo. It is advertised as a premium light beer with a crisp and resfreshing taste.

Taste/Flavor

I found Rolling Rock Green Light beer to be a very light brew.  As far as calling it crisp, I'm not quite so sure.  However, light it is!  The aroma of this beer is also practically non-existent.  It has a very thin layer of foam that dissapates afer a few minutes after opening.

If you are a serious beer drinker, I can tell you right now that you will not like this beer.  It is light in all things, including taste.  You cannot detect any hops and the flavor is so mild that you may think you are drinking a flavored carbonated water.  No kidding!

My ViewPoint

The best way to drink Rolling Rock Green Light beer is icy cold or even with a bit of ice in it.  I found this to be the most refreshing way to enjoy this beer, as with most beers.  I have come to the conclusion that this beer is a take it or leave it.  Since I'm not a big beer drinker, I can stand drinking this every now and then.  Basically, it's a cheap beer and has the qualities of a cheap beer.  If you are looking to cut calories and carbohydrates, you may want to give this beer a try.  I do think it will be more popular with the ladies because of the lightness in both taste and calories.  Otherwise, if you are looking for a full flavored and bodied beer, head to the store for another choice.  I give Rolling Rock Green Light 2.5 VP's.

Sadly Rolling Rock (Read: AB) has changed the recipe for the light beer... It's now called "Rock Light" and has SIX grams of carbs. WTF? I used to buy this stuff and share it with my father-in-law, who's recently found out he's a diabetic, and has to really watch his carbs. Rollink Rock Green Light used to be the holy grail of low-carb beers, but no longer. Very sad about this.
