I bought these books for my one year old daughter on a whim while on a regular shopping trip.  My daughter looks at these at least once everyday.  She will sit on the floor and turn the pages and point out the pictures.  She loves the faces and bright colors.  The only con I can see is that some of the words are not average words that you would teach a one year old.  She doesn't seem to care about that, especially since she would rather look at them on her own instead of having me teach her the words.
